Mushroom Season 2013

I have found that when I take mushrooms, I can smoke weed with it to enhance the trip but as soon as I comedown I hit a point that having cones stops having any effect at all. Regardless of weather I smoked weed during the trip or saved it for the comedown, I always end up sober and weed does nothing for ~2-3 hours after.

Does anyone else have this problem when taking mushrooms?

nah thats an interesting one, can't say iv ever had that issue myself. how are ya bro, been getting many cubes?

Only been out the once since the flood, haven't had time since, although I might go out in the next few days because it's been raining for a while. Got a small pile of them.

How about you?

iv only seen dribs and drabs occasionally. only had one trip this season and that was before the flood.

as a newbie, if i dont have a picking buddy, is it not possible to verify i have the correct species by posting a photo?

Definitely recommend you get a picking buddy if possible. But as said by others theshroomery but it's .org not .com like they said =)
The people on that forum will happily verify what you picked =)

trust me, they are out there, some huge buggers too.

Here's a tip, if you don't see any in the middle of open paddocks, try just under the edge of a tree line, this year I've found 80 % of the ones I've come across withing the first 10 feet under the trees, I've got a couple of theories as to why this is the case....

1) If it's been really raining hard then the trees protect the shrooms from getting completely smashed by the rain.

2) when it has only been raining a bit (ie early this season) then the trees provide a liitle bit of shade and keep the moisure in the ground long enough for the shrooms to fruit instead of in the middle of the paddock where things just got crispy dry real fast under the direct sun.

like I said it's been a guarantee of success this year, I've gone out a few times expecting disappointment and been pleasantly surprised using this method.

3 days ago I found the biggest ones so far this year and they blued up really well indicating plenty of psilocybin.

Lol yessss!!!!!!!

I can't wait for the season to begin! Live in SA and did my first mushroom hunt last year. Does anyone else after ingesting mushies see or hear mushrooms or funghi when walking down the street etc? For a few weeks after some trips if I walked past one I kinda zoomed in with my vision even if I didn't know they were there.. Even if I didn't want to see them my eyes were fixed. :)

Funny I thought you were describing me :) I cannot wait for season 2013 to begin... I too live in SA and did my first season last year and I swear every single mushroom called to me be it magic or not.... they were amazing:)

Yep - It sounds crazy eh ? but i also find they call out and grab my attention, was driving back from the shop today and saw 3 nice ones poking their heads up in a field at the side of the road.

Like you said not just magic ones either, after all this rain and flooding there are all kinds of amazing mushrooms popping up, some roadside ones are huge - the big white ones especially.

Anyone here ever seen the ones that glow in the dark ?

^nope, but that sounds very interesting.
Do you know the name of the species ??

I know its a little early, but I really feel like going on a sub investigation today :)

Mushroom season sydney

Just noticed today there were abit of mushrooms growing around my suburb, but that may of been due to the humidity over the past couple of days. Just wondering what time of the year and which locations psilocybin mushrooms would most likely be. I live in western sydney.

Hey guys, I'm totally new to picking and just have a quick question, it's been raining non stop for the past few days, any of you guys know if it's too early for the Canberra season to start?

I'm a first time picker as well, Also living in Canberra. I think tomorrow I'll go walk around the ridge near my house and see if I can spot any.

Kdashh - I spent two seasons hunting in Canberra and never found anything!! Spent a LOT of time and energy too, and went to some pretty remote places. I cant give locations online but hint - head to where there is more rainfall! The Berra is just to dry for mushrooms.
