*edited to clarify we are interested in experiences with both benzos and z-drugs

Hi there,

My name is Caley Tapp and I’m a researcher based at the School of Public Health, University of Queensland in Australia. We’re recruiting participants for a study about people’s experiences with benzodiazepines and/or z-drugs (prescribed or not), including any positive or negative effects. The study has been approved by the University of Queensland Human Research Ethics Committee (2026/HE010553).

To participate you must:
  • have taken benzos and/or z-drugs (prescribed or not) in the last 12 months
  • be aged 18 years or older
  • currently live in Australia
Part one of the study is an online survey that takes around 15-20 minutes to complete. You can choose to enter a draw to win one of three $50 gift cards for participating.

There is a second phase of the study where we will be doing follow-up interviews (around 60 minutes long). You can choose to share a contact email with us at the end of the survey if you are interested in participating in an interview. Anyone selected for the interview phase will be reimbursed at a rate of $50 per hour for their time.

Phase one of the study begins on 19th October 2026 and will run until the end of the year.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me at [email protected] or via the Bluelight private messaging system.

Thanks so much!
Caley

Thanks a lot Caley. Just a note to everyone that I've reviewed this study, and reviewed and approved the integrity of the research group. This group has taken out paid advertising with Bluelight, helping us pay our server bills, so, big thanks to them for that.

You can help by completing this survey if you meet the criteria :)

As usual, feel free to post any feedback on the study in this thread.
