Surely you have to consent to a strip search? Bouncers don't have the same license to do such things as police who have to jump through quite a few legal loopholes to undertake a strip search?

My mate saw me get dragged away but he was herded towards the main building by another grunt. Its my word against theirs really but WHP has had a lot of bad press recently and I don't think sexual assault from the "double security" would be a good thing to have published in the papers. I'm fuming.

I would be speaking with the police and the manchester evening news and probably delete that post as well.
Police are coming to take a statement later and as soon as I have, I'm going to the media about it as WHP have ignored my complaint. That kind of behaviour needs to be stamped out, I hope to god nobody else ever has to endure what I did. No need to delete the post, it's not libel or slander it's something that happened and they are not getting away with it.

What did you say though when they asked that they were going to search you? It could just be your word vs theres, If you had objected at the time/shouted to someone else or reported it at the time to police nearby you might have a case. If they said "we are going to strip search you" and you dont object I am not sure what they can do though.
No one should have to go through that though I know I just think they are going to have some batshit excuse to dismiss your claims. I have seen bouncers/security abroad strip searching people (looking down pants) etc but im not sure about the laws over here..

They're definitely not allowed to strip search you. As far as I know they shouldn't be allowed to do anything to you without your consent if you're just trying to get in a club. They're not the police. If a bouncer wants to search you and you're definitely going to get caught with something you should be able to refuse and just leave.

That sounds like a terrible experience and it's horrible that it happened to you. Certainly puts me off going to the WHP. But this does sound like sneaky promotion for Bowlers..

Nothing to do with Bowlers it's about the fact I'm not going to WHP ever again. I just want WHP security to be held responsible for what I had to go through in the hope it happen's to nobody else. I still don't even know why I was ejected..
Chemical Brothers last Saturday was decent, although searched pretty thoroughly going in. Also, lot's of coked up dick heads charging around(5 foot 6 types that were within their first year of weight lifting) and lots of people getting arsey when explained I could be of no help (particularly the girls).
Bouncers do not have the right to strip search you! They can pat you up and down, they really do not 'legally' have the right to 'cup' a guy the same way they do not have the right to touch a girls breasts (they do not). If they suspect a guy has a bag of pills in his briefs they can either reject him or hold him pending police search - the police arrive and most will give you the choice - let me search you in the van / private and if your not stashing your free to go. If you refuse you will be taken to the local police station where they have the right to a strip search you.
