Warehouse Project

Maybe people will be unable to check on the night but the following morning we could have the details uploaded onto pillreports / facebook etc. Pill testing in the UK though being operated 'legally' - for me say if in a few years time this leads to upfront testing / testing facilities being available at clubs, events etc then :).

Maybe when the club finds a PMA /PMMA pill (or something just as vile) they could have a screen in the club displaying their web page stamp/name etc?

Anything to address the spate of pill deaths has to be good. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing, and small steps add up.

I really want to see how it will work.

I'm really keen to see how this works also - if they are legally allowed to test 'confiscated' pills then surely that applies to discarded pills etc. If this is the case as say a bag of ten pills was discarded would they be able to test them all and publish the results (free of charge). Sounds like they are serious about it (the machines are not cheap) so makes more sense to have say a bouncer hand in a few of the recent pills that he 'confiscated' of a kid at the door at the very start of the night and post a warning. These pills are in circulation tonight and have been found to contain 'PMA' etc.

Going to Trollied in Manchester next Saturday, I only live a few miles away but it's rare I get out in Manchester. Only problem is it kicks out at 4, are there any decent afterclubs I could visit or is it a spangled wait at the train station on Sunday morning for me?

Theres an after partys at South nightclub, its generally the same music as what was on at Warehouse Project that night. Ive been in there untill 8am before but that was about 2 years ago I think the official closing is around 6-7? Ive not been there this year

WHP.. whats going on.. too much Media attention I think. Media.. aka "Drugs are Bad mkay".. leading the line.

Woman critically ill in coma after taking drugs at Warehouse Project nightclub

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...-news/woman-critically-ill-coma-after-6143512

Hope she pulls through, but the witch that is going on is sad.

Ahead of another event at the venue tonight, police have warned clubbers they are playing a 'lottery' with their lives by taking drugs and said anyone found dealing them would face the "full weight of the law."

WHP is very under the spotlight at the moment...

Prohibition - and lack of quality control - kills. MDMA in its pure form (i.e. uncontaminated by the likes of PMA and PMMA) is less dangerous and less of a problem to society than alcohol. Much of the blame for these deaths lies at the feet of our government. People will take drugs and when it comes to relatively harmless drugs (such as MDMA) it's the duty of society to make sure they can do so as safely as possible. How many people have died in the Netherlands (where pills can be tested by users inside a club prior to ingestion) compared to the recent epidemic of deaths in the UK and Ireland?

People are dying and getting ill because of our ridiculous drug laws.
Drugs are not going away and people are not going to stop taking them.

Legal high varients of illegal ones are more dangerous and the illegal ones are not pure, because they are in the hands of criminals. The current situation is a complete mess.

Went on Friday, was an absolute nightmare to get in. HUGE queues, massive security presence and i mean MASSIVE. About 5 check points to get through, 3 sniffer dogs, mad searching, 3 different people advised us if we felt, or know someone is feeling ill, we should contact security immediately. They were giving out leaflets warning of PMA etc. Took us 1 1/4 hours to get in which would have been an utter fucking disaster if the crowd wasn't so friendly. Interestingly loads of people i got chatting to knew about the new drug testing unit and were quite clued up in general about what they were taking etc.

In summary its put me well off, not worth going through all that hassle in my opinion. On the plus side, the venue is immense and the crowd were friendly. Would I go back? Not a chance

I agree with you mate, starting to see things in motion here in a certain part of the UK in the form of Harm Reduction MDMA / PMMA etc workshops, just because now it can be a bit more than an EZ Test. Will prob send you a PM here. These are the sort've points I was thinking of highlighting, also the fact that I feel we need funding as facilities, rather than it being expected a private business sets things up, all free of charge or of an extremely small fee, fast turn around etc. Just we don't have that with EcstacyData. All the deaths round here seemed to come from dodgier areas were more 'community size gang' (I'll use that just for sake of keeping it simple) supply rather than genuine dealers. So it seems to just be people weren't aware rather than being careless and still going ahead and dropping without warning. Local GC/MS and flyers would make a big difference.

Joy, that sounds delightful. How crowded and toasty was it inside?

Crikey!

Out of interest what time did you start queuing? I think when I went we arrived early doors and got in in around 10 minutes or so. But that was last year before people started dropping like flies.

There are 6 of us who are going on Friday, really into the music & really looking forward to it. Certainly worried about the queue situation. The tickets state 10:30 latest entry which means you need to start queuing by 9.45/10? Crazy really
I also think the people who are attending shouldn't buy anything in there as you can't possibly know the source or its contents. At least when you source prior to the event you should know who you're dealing with and have a fairly trusted source to a degree.

Been twice now, went for the Armin night last year and it was a brilliant night. Queue to get in wasnt too bad but it was very busy and very hot.

Went to the Armin night a couple of weeks ago and didnt really enjoy it much, joined the queue just before 10pm and didnt get in till 11.45. The queue had sobered us up a bit and we were quite fucked and tired from travelling down from Glasgow that day so we couldnt really get into the night properly, ended up leaving about 2ish.

Going down again next month for Loco Dice, Chris Leibing etc and looking forward to it, hopefully the queues wont be as bad and it'll be a bit cooler.

Nearly 2 hours of queueing? In cold, damp Manchester? Fuck that. It makes Bowlers sound like heaven in comparison.

Its because the security checks has been stepped up massively, I am sure it will go back to being normal or not half as bad soon, Ive never spent more than 10 minutes in a Warehouse que in about 4 years.

Sorry, didnt know where else to put it. Just found this on a website.. hmm to me this suspiciously looks like a renovated Sankeys Manchester,, they kept this one quiet... found it when having a browse online... it says on the

"The project was successfully completed within 6 weeks for the club's reopening."

Fuck it! OH well atleast we have a choice from Warehouse now over the winter, I wonder when the are going to start the 150 opening partys???

Also.. it looks like they have turned Sankeys into Swankeys...

http://www.clarkegough.co.uk/sankeys.php

Theyve even done up spektrum.

Phwoar, they're very pretty, but not exactly the scuzzy sort of places that generate a good atmosphere. Looks a bit swanky for me.

I didn't realise Sankeys was meant to be re-opening, though?

They said they were not opening again after there 12 closing partys they did a few months ago,, now some pictures have surfaced online of the club all done up and renovated? Im not feeling the white look, preferred it dark and dingy.. they are still denying they are re-opening. They are opening a club in New York also, the facebook comments are pretty funny to the opening line up of Sneak and a few others "who the hell are these guys" "wheres the edm",... :D

Hah, yeah, I saw the FB stuff they posted. Did you see them post the photo of the queue in Manchester? All the US folks commenting there was no way in hell a New Yorker would bother with a queue that long.

All the dark and dingy clubs are closing. :( :(
