Nah, some random doof in qld last year.

I don't rate places with special VIP areas. To me they should be blocking the riff raff from the front door. These days I'm more the supper club type where they serve nibbles with my strong martini. If I want a boogie I head bush. At least until they let me smoke a spliff on the dance floor and take a piss behind the pot plant.
 
Absolute corker last night. Wasn't really worth the price and the 90 minute wait in the pouring rain was not appreciated but the music and atmosphere were both on point. Was able to have a laugh with security too, got a guy to fill up my bottle in the girls toilets without too much hassle when i was early gurning centered. 1 brush past a sniffer where everyone just walks through 15 metre area with a very easily avoidable dog. and very minimal pat search, less than last year was definitely more intense.

Deffo, I was worried with all the talk of over the top security etc, but found it all to be pretty reasonable. Saw a few get gripped though for smoking and that. Fucking no show doom though 8) four tet's set more than made up for it though
 
Got tickets for Chibuku next week on the Saturday (Nero, Boys Noize, Jack Beats etc) for sale which my friends can't make anymore. Anyone interest? 3 avail. Not looking to profiteer from them, just recoup money we spent. Thx.
 
Anyone been recently to WHP? Is it still all the same with security and sweatbox or is the new air conditioning an improvement?

Going this Friday, d and b night.
 
Sniffer dogs, air port style x-ray body scanners and intoxication tests (stand on one leg and touch your nose, close your eyes and count to 10). The new air conditioning works really well though, room 3 is nice and cool now.

put stuff in your boxers and you'll be reet. same old token dogs and pat downs. new air con in the main room is pretty nice. small room (room 3) is still the best for me !
 
That's what I thought, I just wondered if security had been stepped up particularly due to the issues they have experienced.
 
I hope they realise the security is the reason people buy dodgy shit inside, instead of taking stuff they know is alright. I'm hoping their new idea of testing stuff that's been seized, and putting up warnings, saves a life or two. Doing on-site testing of people's drugs, then letting them go in with them would destroy their bar sales, and it'd be condoning drug use (in a way). There doesn't seem to be a way for punters to win, unless they smuggle their stuff in. Safety pinning things to the inside of your boxers seems to be the best way to go, or sticking them in your bra. Being strip-searched is highly unlikely.

The testing thing got rejected ? Safety pinning ftw ;) - much safer than buying randoms in the club when you cant see straight.
 
How long are the queues at the moment?

I don't fancy standing out in a Mancunian December night for an hour plus only to get searched so thoroughly I'll feel compelled to cuddle afterwards.
 
Like I said earlier in the thread, I thought security was pretty reasonable. Yeh there were lots of guards, but they didn't seem to be hassling people unless they were smoking inside etc. I never saw a dog on the way in, just got a bit of a pat down. I did get people asking me for stuff inside constantly mind, enough that I'll probs be taking a few bombs of md to sell on next time I go.

A couple of mates of mine saw the police whilst queuing, shit it, and chucked a big bag of mushrooms they'd brought. Anyway they were seen by the security who found the bag and took them into an office. They thought it was weed though =D said they didn't mind people bringing in weed that much, but have they got anything else on them, they said no, and got let in =D

Wrong. Got seperated from my friends as soon as i'd got through main gate, sniffer dog sat down in front of me. Boom - "come here mate" dragged me in some little portakabin then:-

They pulled my pants down, boxers too. Knob out everything. Grabbed my knob and balls like i'd stash something there... WTF??? Never been so humiliated or degraded in all my life. I was stone cold sober, 3 meathead bouncers may aswell have raped me. fist bumping each other like they thought it was a game. I had nothing on me. and, Yeah they chucked me out, stood outside 10 hours freezing my back off waiting for my group to finish having a good time considering they all paid quite a bit for their tickets. Absolute bunch of C**Ts those security. Avoid like the plague. I'm taking legal action for sexual assault.
