Warehouse Project

Well.. people do and they usually don't die, but it's not something I'd do because I prefer to buy high quality goodies that are good value and are definitely not going to make me feel like crap. ;)
Trust me, that's what I do 100% of the time but I'm travelling from Scotland by plane and there's no chance I'm trying to bring stuff with me. I'm sure I'll figure something out :D

Winding myself up by reading stories of people, having got past security, being thrown out for looking 'drunk'. Seriously wondering if getting tickets was a good idea. Really really love the line up but worried about the hassle. Arggghhhh what to do!

I'm going in a month or so, been a few times before and the security is a real buzz kill with police and police dogs round the outside and then bouncers running dogs passed everyone in the queue. The search pretty thoroughly to. But as was said before it's a great venue and the acts are amazing.

Thanks, I was stressing that even if I made it past the bouncers I would have problems inside but feel a bit better now. Had visions of security regularly checking my eyes - just want to (responsibly) enjoy myself! Madness really, so much better to take stuff in with me than chance it off strangers once through, not that I would do that. Pretty sure all the bad reports will be putting people off, though Lord doesn't really seem to care. I read an interview with him saying that ticket sales speak for themselves which is true but think it will be at the expense of the night. More people drinking and getting tickets just so they can say they've been there = shit night.

I went to a Hydra night a few weeks back and it was a completely different story. And such a good vibe.

I think some people are too easy to slag off WHP. Some proper stoner / scruffy druggy looking types get hassle.

The security is mainly for show to help them with licensing and police. My mate was carrying, dog sat next to him, he got searched nothing found and let in. Doorman do fly around a bit in there and will walk around the crowd but no worse than a lot of clubs or club nights in London

Its true a lot of places in London and elsewhere have security doing their thing inside clubs. This is interesting though, presumably your mate wasn't strip searched so how thorough is the search if dog rumbles you? Is there a Manchester police presence or is it private police?

No just a more thorough pat down. Private security, private dog. Usually police presence across the road. Pretty similar set up to club nights at Brixton Academy etc..

Spot on my man. If they went in too hard they would kill their business. The GMP are unnecessary harsh in their licensing conditions I feel. A throw back to the gangs running doors. They do what they need to to keep operating.

No problems at all last night. Security friendly enough and searches only as you'd expect in any other night of it's kind.

Caribou was amazing. The experience was slightly marred by large groups of friends really not interested in the music and barging around on the dancefloor. Thankfully most of these pushed off after 2 or so into the set. I think Warehouse Project is becoming somewhere to 'tick off' saying you've been too, like some festivals.

That said I had a great night!

Yeah, I find this a lot there.. especially the groups of drunk girls that hold hands and then drag each other in a chain through the dancefloor. Grarrrr.

Very glad to hear it! :)

This!! I honestly don't know why some people go, it's so obviously not their scene. Thank you for your advice to still go, definitely the right decision :)
