What's your favorite tea?

Loose tea >>> tea bags. Tea bags taste like the floor sweepings leftover from when they're grading the 'real' tea.

Do most people here buy loose tea or tea bags? Just curious
I usually buy bags because the're just more convenient, but loose tea is much better IMO.

Tea bags because of price. There is a store that sells some awesome loose teas (Teavana) close to me, but it is expensive.

Check out your local Chinese market. It takes a while to figure out which ones are good and which ones aren't (trial and error in many cases, unless you can read the language) but you can get some excellent budget loose tea there. That's where I get the tea for my kombucha-- when you need to buy tea by the pound it's the only way really.

I love all different types of tea from Chai (I prefer the real stuff but I like the bagged Chai if you can taste ginger and black pepper in it), rooibos/honeybush, white tea, green tea, herbal teas and Tisane (I know they're not really "teas" just like rooibos/honeybush aren't; but that's what they are sold as), and black tea both plain and flavored.

I like it hot and iced and I prefer loose tea but I'll use bagged tea if I'm feeling lazy and I don't want to clean the strainer and all that.

I've bought loose tea in Asian markets and online and it's all good. :)

I love tea so I can't pick... I usually have my "regulars" like coca and other various herbal ones; rooibus tea comes to mind.

A strong properly made chai is also really great.

As far as "real" tea.... a strong assam or English breakfast is what I usually make.

Rooibos is lovely, I like to make it iced, ie put the teabags into half of the(hot) water you will use, let it steep, add the other half of the(cold) water , let it cool in the fridge, when you want to drink it, just add a dash( like 10% extra) of OJ. <3

^Sounds delish. How does Rooibos taste on its own, if I may ask?

I just made tea from a guyabano leaf, a pandan leaf, anise leaf, and ginger.

mmmmm sooo good, I must try that as I love all those individual ingredients!

Quick question for the non-'tea' tea drinkers: has anyone found a Yerba Mate brand that doesn't taste horribly bitter without a cup of sugar?

Me mumsy buys lots of rooibos but i could never get into it. i prefer Earl Grey with a spot of milk (and heaps of sugar)

absolutely LOVE rooibos with a touch of honey and dash of milk

yesss, around a camp-fire.... at a psytrance party ... sounds nice

Nothing beats Earl Grey, Tsai and Dandelion granules!! Loose Chamomile tea, which is stronger then in bags is also great with some lemon in it!

Most types of green, and white. I haven't tried enough Matcha to make up my mind on it, nor is high grade Matcha something I can afford.

Not too keen on most black tea; generally, too strong for me, though there are some exceptions, and I do enjoy an occasional proper Earl Grey or Lapsang Souchong.

Oolong can be very enjoyable.

Yerba Mate, while not technically "tea", is nice as well.

Jasmine and green tea is what im drinkin right now, if you can find it definetly pick it up. ANYTHING by Tazo is good, Good Earth makes some pretty quality tea too. Celestial Seasonings is what most people drink because you can get it from almost any supermarket, but theyve been around for 50 years and have a huge selection, all of it is good. Chai is awesome if you want something different. Try it with some creamer. :)
