VIC - Rainbow Serpent Festival Australia Day Weekend Jan 23 - 26

djwombat81au -> Much better to get there Friday! That way you wake up all nice and relaxed to the beautiful scenery/vibe. Plus you get a better camping spot. :D

Just a reminder that the KinetiK Krew have scored the Sunday sunrise slot on the market stage at Rainbow Serpent this year.

4am - 5am Shane Ford - dirty beats, fat breaks, grungy prog
5am - 6am Aaron Smiles - dirty prog psy
6am - 7:30am Heath Myers - electro-tek mash up.

This year the market stage at Rainbow Serpent involves dj’s from a great cross section of some of Melbourne’s most respected underground party crews including the Beatsworking crew slapping out breaks, Lex & Ruxpin introducing some D&B to the outdoor scene, Toupee & Glitch from Meccanoid, Phil K, Princess Trash, TD Shagga from Wobble, Boydex Vs Hell Kitte plus much more.

The Market Stage alone is reason to make sure you're there...throw into the mix the Main Floor, the great line up of internationals, live artists, healing workshops and general good vibe that is Rainbow Serpent and you can't go wrong....

correcto...but on the market stage not the main stage...the market stage area this year will be a stand alone feature on its own aside from the headliners and internationals on the Main stage which will of course be more oriented towards trance and psy beats...i guess you can't go wrong where ever you choose to groove

I had previously had a hotel for the monday night... but the hotel was full so it wasnt approved which sucks... ugh! What to do, what to do, in melbourne the monday night... hmm *scratches head*
 
LMAO hardicus, thats why im playing friday night, at kandy, to get my dose of hard house and hard dance, then up to rainbow (after some sleep) to get my dose of some phat psy and breaks!

Not sure if this is the place.. and i'm not having a go at Green Ant or the Rainbow serpent festival itself.. but why have a beats working and kinetic stage?
I thought this festival is a celebration of psy trance, nature and all that hippy stuff.. Having attended 3 previous rainbow serpents I have always enjoyed this festival as people going have always been there for the psy trance.. as that was the only thing playing.

The crowd Earthcore attract no one compares to the crowd at Rainbow Serpent.. I put this down to the genre of music offered.. I have nothing against the Kandy Kid ravers.. cause I use to be one myself.. but out in the bush I do prefer to see those tree hugging hippies running around.. instead of a bunch of 18 year old, troll eyed, Kandy Kids trying their level best to take as many drugs possible in the least amount of time.

Oh well.. i dont want to dampen the mood of anyone.. because i'm majorly excited! i've taken some time off work to make sure I make the very most of this weekend!

You have no idea about kinetik do you? I've never seen any troll eyed kandy kids at a kinetik. And when the person who runs kinetik(+ sunday skool when it was on) spends several hours putting healing stones, aromatherapy/incense etc each time one of those parties were on, I think that qualfies as a celebration of nature and all 'that hippy stuff". Most if not all of the people you see at kinetik, you see at a lot of bush doofs anyway. Do not worry.
 
Yeah... im not from melbourne but having been to one Kinetik its definately not at all what you just described friskk... Its pretty much just an indoor psy club sort of a place. Correct me anyone if im wrong. But yeah. :)
 
agreed. Let's not be too picky. We're lucky to have these kind of parties at all. Mind you I'm easily pleased.... I could be camping next to hard drinking nudist bogans playing Van Halen out the back of their utes and still be happy. =D :p

OK Guys,

Weve got some good news and some bad news!!

Here is the main stage set times for you to start planning your Saturday night / Sunday morning. Thats the good news, the bad news is that as you will see - there is no deedrah on the lineup!

Unfortunately there have been some unforseen problems with this tour and he will no longer be coming. We are sorry to let those of you who were especially looking forward to him down. Was looking forward to this quite eagerly myself, but unfortunately not to be this year! Have now rearranged times to give Crunchy Punch a spot (Orion & Alien Projects side project), plus given some of the others abit longer times and the local boys get good spots. Really sorry about that - have tried to work things out but it just didnt happen!

Sorry.. I've been to many kinetic parties and I know the type of crowd it attracts.. I was meaning it as more of a generalisation.

I mean.. first of all it starts with Kinetik, beats working, then next year it's something else, then something else... When do you stop?

^^ Ah, that's because Frank is not *someone else*.Do not worry about it, Money is not the top of Green Ant's list of loves.. :) I can't see him inviting any shite promotoer/group/event people just to attract more people and let the quality of everything drop. I'll say what I said in my other post, DO NOT WORRY :)
