[VIC] Rainbow Serpent Festival 2010 - Jan 25, 2010 - Beaufort REVIEWS!!!!

Planning bbq

Anyone know when the planning bbq for rainbow is? And if it's in the same location?

Mate, I am surprised you didn't buy one at the launch, they were 150 there!

Hey Psilo, I heard of a guy who cut his foot open on a can once, so can's can be pretty dangerous too.

Mind you, who would be silly enough to get their foot cut on a can???

=D;)

Haha. yeah watch out for cans on the ground when you go for a good stomp psilo=D.

Didn't have $150 spare on that night unfortunately (ah the poverty of being a student!:(). I'm hoping these promoters will get back to me today about tickets for $175.

NO GLASS POLICY
No Exceptions!!

Having seen the impact of glass on our previous sites and with our desire to keep our new home safe, clean and free of broken glass, we have decided that we are going to enforce the no glass policy for Rainbow 2010.

Boots/Cars/Esky will be checked and any glass found will be confiscated, so time to start thinking about what you can buy that you like in cans and kegs. We ask that our patrons accept this new policy and please do the right thing and leave the glass at home. In the end, this mostly small inconvenience over a series of years, will keep our new home safe for bare feet, kids and animals and we think that's more than a fair trade off.

For all the info on Advice and Guidelines go here: http://www.rainbowserpent.net/index.php/RSF-2010/advice-and-guidelines.html

WE HAVE A NEW SITE!!!!! :)

New Site Conditions

lexton4.JPG
lexton5.JPG

After several years of preparation, planning and negotiation we are happy to announce we have secured a new site to hold the festival.

Still close to our beloved Beaufort, the site is blessed with undulating hills and picturesque views, is bordered by a forest and one side and a granite hill on the other and we believe our new home will provide a great setting for years to come. As part of the arrangements to allow us to the use the site, there are some new conditions which we need you to be aware of and we hope you will respect these to ensure we keep the owners and authorities happy.

Go here for the full details: http://www.rainbowserpent.net/index.php/RSF-2010/new-site-conditions.html

Wow, that new site looks so lush and beautiful! I can't wait to see photos once it's all happened - I'm thinking it might look a wee bit different mid-Summer?

Even so, if it's less dusty than previous sites I may try to come along in 2011. :D

heheheh those pics of it looking green plus cotb's comments remind me of Rainbow last year when my friends and I spotted a lush green meadow/grassy area on the outskirts/behind or off to the side of a stage (from memory). It looked so nice and inviting we skipped up to it hoping to sit and roll amongst it but on closer inspection it was just a bunch of green weeds in sandy ground :\ we all were pretty K'd out at that point though so perhaps our perception was a bit awry (and was probabaly one of those funnier-when-you-were-in-it moments..)

Rainbow is officially out for me this year- my bf and I booked flights to go to NZ for 2 weeks in Feb last night so I'm saving hardcore for that. shame you can't do everything darn $$$

^ Haha.

So who's everyone hanging out for?
I['m looking forward to checking out babicz, OTT, Tristan, Antix (seen many times though).
Mad professor is good. I saw him ages ago when he played with Lee Scratch Perry. Did anyone else check out that show, it was like 4 years ago. I couldn't understand a word Lee Scratch Perry was saying, and I'm not sure if he understoof himself either.

^^What he said and locals like terrafractyl are always good

I have been surprised by DJ's at RSF many times. Ones i wouldn't enjoy in a club situation tend to break loose in the bush environment

Saw the mad professor in Canada and wasn't impressed, that could hopefully change at rainbow

16 days to go :p

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGPsnLngIlI The unforgettable sunrise!

NANGTASTIC STOMP HEAVEN!

17 days to go

Fucking love main stage sunrise. Anyone wanting to catch up if they haven't by then I will be up front and centre for sunrise, you will have no problem picking me and the missus out, and to help you out I will leave you with this quote

Robin: "Gosh, Batman, this camel grass juice is great."
Batman: "Beware of strong stimulants, Robin."

=D

Two weeks tonight and I will be on my way there, fuck yeah, can't wait!!!!!

^ I have been advised that Monday is superhero themed dress up day this year ;)

I wonder what the max capacity of the site is cos it looks like it could sell out.

I was actually naked for a bit there last year on the Monday... It happens

I might go the Aus flag cape (super hero cape ;)) and my birthday suit this year for monday

Either that or make a suite out of beer cans over friday and saturday

Anything is possible at rainbow :)

11000, including all support staff, dj's and crew, heard there was approx 10,500 last year

2 Weeks To Go

Hi Guys
for those not on other forums to see this. A note and some images shown on other forums in the build up

"... and it's looking amazing, roads being built, toilets and shower blocks going up, stages taking shape! But as they say, pictures tell a thousand words.... so here you go."

Still looking fairly green considering, but one thing for sure it looks like an awesome site.

Just makes me want to start counting hours instead of days.

and that would be 364 hrs and 18 minutes =D
