I always call it a case. I would never call it a box. Funny those two were grouped together.

I'm in SA and it is definately a carton, but I would use slab and case occasionally as well, I've never heard anyone call them boxes here.

Of course we also have Schooners and Pints.

Yay for Pints!!!

"Scott's eyes glow red and in a demonic voice, he says, "Give me a Keg of Beer," leading the horrified man to quickly comply. As a capper, Fox holds up a packet of Sno-Balls and says (in his regular voice) "...and these."

We've been over this! :X Give me a break, I'm Victorian. I thought "case" as unlikely an answer as "box", therefore they've been grouped together. Seems I was wrong, and there is a strong case for "case".

I apologise!!!!

*humbly prostrates self*

ps. I'm sure Americans say "box" - has no-one ever heard of it?.

serves you right for abusing your powers and creating a poll in a forum that you do not moderate :X

just kidding, ive always thought you rocked ;)

I always said carton and would chastise my stupid boyfriend from NSW who said case.
Now I live here and say it too :(

Brought a CARTON of Becks today on special for $45.99, they were cheaper than James Boags Preimum for once.

Nope. We say "case". Never heard anyone use the other 3 in the US.

I will settle for calling it a Carton as the "proper" name for it.

and Slab being the slang Aussie term for a carton.

Can we all agree on that? unless of course you are American, in which case your naturally going to call it a Case.

Great thread SLM :)

Oh SLM not to leave you confused, because I have heard Americans say "box" in terms of certain 12 packs of bottles or a 30 pack of cans.

...but by far the terminology in the states for 24 beers is "a case" or "a rack".

I've heard all of the above although box never sounded right to me. In canada (where I'm from anyway)we call them a two, four

Tehehe... a rack! "Hey mate, nice rack!" "ooh look at that rack, only $39.99!"

(I'm assuming you know what a 'rack' is in Aus-speak?)

Yah rack means tits here too, but it's surpising how hard it is to work a tit joke into a discussion about beer.... that one you did was about as good as it gets unfortunately... :(

Rack??? Don't bring new terms into this.. People are having enough trouble coping with the options on hand now hahaha!

Don't make me bring up the 30 can Block :P oops I just did... I think i want to puke at the thought of Tooheys Red. Aparently it's perfectly good beer? If that tastes like beer, I understand why some people drink urine.

Doesn't matter who the funk I'm talking to, it's a carton and always will be. Even though I migrated south I still use carton, it's all that's right in this world I tell ya.
