I can't believe this thread is still punching on!! About a week or so ago there was a cryptic crossword clue in the Age, referring to 24 cans of beer, where the answer was "slab". I wish I'd scanned that mutha now... Although "as used by cryptic crossword setters" might not rank as definitive to some...
