DMT Storage

So I recentely received 3g of DMT, for the moment it's in an airtight bag (from the supplier, I'm not able to do this myself), wrapped in aluminium foil in my fridge. 3 grams is quite a bit, and although I will be mostly IV'ing, I would like to keep it freebase so that I can smoke it when ever I feel like it (salting (and afterwards freebasing again) of large amounts seems tedious, I prefer adding acid dropwise on a per dose basis). In any case I've looked around for DMT storage information and alot of it seems contradictory (I haven't had time to go through the 5 iterations of Big and Dandy DMT threads, but I didn't find anything in the most recent).

Thus my question is: what is the best way to store DMT (for a few months) without converting it to a salt? An amber glass vial in the freezer is all I have for the moment, how long would the freebase last?

I've read reports of it being an unstable chemical (from a chemical point of veiw this seems correct, it would likely be quite susceptible to light and oxygen) but I've read reveiws of people who have kept it 6 months in their drawer with no degradation, so I'm trying to sort this all out.

I've kept DMT in amber vials at RT for 11 months with no change in appearance or potency. In the freezer it would last much more.
I've also kept MHRB-extracted light brown DMT in a plastic baggie (which is permeable to gasses) for 28 months, did a recrystallization with 40% yield loss and the result was yellow DMT which did the job. It was less potent and left a non-volatile residue behind, but it is hard to gauge the loss in potency as it had been dirty in the first place.
 
I've put it in tinfoil, put that in a plastic container, and the whole thing in either the frig or the freezer depending on how long i'm keeping it, as dmt isn't something i'm going to smoke every day. With this method i've never noticed any degradation or loss.
 
lsd storage without freezer?

I have 3 hits of acid and I need to store it for one month.Problem is that puting it in freezer is big risk becose I live with my family.How much will my acid degrade if I dont put it in freezer? Without air and light? I know there is bilion threads about storing acid but this is about storing acid for short time without freezer so please mods,dont close this thread,thanks :)

IV'ing is my preferred method, very similiar to smoking (maybe a bit more intense even) but without the horrible smoke and requires lower doses, I would like to keep the freebase for those I know who are uncomfortable with a needle, and perhaps for myself once in a while.

From what I've seen here, DMT is much more stable then people say it is... So I suppose I'm good to go with an airtight amber vial in the freezer.

This is a bit off topic, (perhaps even against the rules? Sorry), but does anyone know if the vials from "Rese@rch Supply" are airtight using 20 mm flip top aluminum seal (without crimping)? Any other places to get vials from? The ones I use have always seemed a bit big for my use...

^Size don't matter really. Do you use vitamin suplements or anything? They usually come in an amber bottle- keep your DMT in a baggie (remove air from baggie), put in bottle with some desicant and place in dark freezer. Can't go wrong really. Thats how I store everything, even my shoes.
 
^Tap water, containing chlorine, will destroy LSD. So, effectively, it would last a few seconds. Only use alcohol or distilled water.
 
depending on the kind of water, and way it is stored, it could be anywhere from seconds to years :) Tap water will kill your acid. Distilled is better, but I think if you want to store it long term, you should store it in alcohol. Obviously keeping it dark and cool will make it last longer.

Now if you just put it in a bottle of Perrier, I dunno, everyone I've known in that situations gives in and drinks it after a few days tops :D
 
Storing it on blotter is actually probably better then putting it in solution, if you keep the blotter away from heat and light and moisture.
 
Yeah it is in distilled, came home early one night.
Was wondering if it was still active, no point throwing it out then if its still good
 
Storage of 2ci, 4-ACO-DMT and CP,55940

Anyone have any advice on storing these chemicals so they are easy to dose?

I don't have a miligram scale and don't plan on getting one for a while, but I recently got a hold of some of these chemicals.

I was wondering if I could store all of them in a vial containing some high proof vodka?

Any tips on methods of transferring active doses from vial to a different medium? Can I use gummy bears, or gelatin candy like they do with lsd? Sugar cubes? Will it work for some but not others?

What about degredation? How long will these tasty chemicals last if stored at room temp?
 
Get a scale. I'm pretty sure I know how much those chemicals cost you, and a fairly accurate milligram scale can be bought for a portion of that.
 
shifting to the storage thread.

you must buy a mg scale measure accurate doses... no sense in over or undershooting it because you didnt want to drop a lil (srsly not that expensive) on a scale. Store the chemicals in amber vials in dark cool places.
