I can't exactly say...
From 6 years of hunting in SW Vic they usually come up 2-4 days after a few days rain or a day of very heavy rain. The little pins then take a few days to mature (i like medium sized shrooms that haven't had much sunlight or any chance to dry out as they have always done it for me
The mercury has to plunge to freezing (frosty mornings) before any psilocybes will fruit (in my area) but i have seen the same species fruit at temps below 6 degree's in Melbourne.
They are the last species to pop up around here and this may be the same in most places. I usually find Amnita's roughly a week before the subs which may also help.
Non-actives appear in their thousands after the first signs of autumn (cooler temps and rain) and tease alot of people without much knowledge/experiance with psilocybes into hunting weeks or even months ahead. Many of you may know what i'm talking about. Years ago I spent most of April hiking for k's every day without a single active hahaha
My best advice for any amature is to wait for a few days decent rain and then a nice frosty morning (even wait a few days after the frost to be sure). These are the best indicators that the subs will be up or starting to pin IMO (it's also wise to have an experianced user with you at all times untill you are fullyconfident at I.D's)
They will almost certainly be up in melb every year by mid May (they were up on the penninsula near Portsea at the start of April this year when we had a cold wet week) and the west of the state will fruit by mid June.
