they were up on the penninsula near Portsea
Do P.Subs take to sandier soil? Just scouted out a local spot this morning that I had always assumed would be far too sandy (mix of sand and soil), although this place seems to have all the "right" vegetation to find P. Subs around. Found nuffin, still too warm me thinks (I've been in New Zealand for the last week so not sure what's gone down in Melbs)

She's a rainin' beatifully down in melbz today people!

Tomorrow morning/afternoon I'm heading out.

Yeah they don't mind it at all. Ive found shitloads of completely wild subs in the bush near my beach house. Some were found only a few metres from the waters edge in an estuary system.
I couldn't believe it when I first stumbled across them down there.

3-4 days after rain is really what you need. But go for it, let us know how it pans out.

When they are spread out like a football field, it was only a 10mx10m patch at this stage =D.

The ironic thing is, i found my first actives on exactly the same day last year, May 1st.

w00t.

4 years of hunting and learning mate. They aren't that hard to find, although i am surprised i found them this early. They were in a little depression where the moisture could accumulate, im guessing this is why i found them.

Random Fact: The 1st of May is may day! (seriously...look it up on wiki).

Nice find there too man, very impressive ;)

I swear, I HAVE seen shrooms like that in the past. I can't remember where exactly, but they have jogged my memory. Maybe I saw them somewhere on the intraweb, I dunno. But they do seem familiar.

Yeah this particular area produces some really beefy-capped mushrooms. I've eaten one large one at a party once just fucking around and was tripping much harder than i expected.

Really healthy mushies. Patches were adjacent to a creek, i think this is key. Keeps the ground moisture up.

Im an east-sider, but yeah creeks seem to be the go. Still raining eh? Hasn't rained out this way since about noon, stopped just before i found them.

Good luck anyway man. At least this is confirmation that they are growing. Look for low areas, thats your best bet.
