I wish there was a Wii setup somewhere so I could try it. Has anyone tryed Goldeneye the old skool version on the Wii!?

I ahven't played it on the virtual console yet, but if you were planning on using the remote to aim, don't get too excited. Virtual console games use traditional control schemes.

Apparantly, all GTA4 pics online are fake.

Oh well..... its still cool. So can you use gamecube controllers to play the old skool games or what?

yes you can

I bought a Wii and I found my inner gamer again after years of dissapointment and neglect. I'm sorry but I'm sick of every new development in the gaming industry being centered around graphics. If graphics are what makes or breaks a game I'd rather just go outside where I've got the best resolution in the universe. What the Wii offers is nonstop FUN, and a unique way of playing that is far more interactive than anything else on the market.

BTW for those of you who have Wiis, do yourself a favor and buy Rayman: Raving Rabbids NOW. Its the ultimate party game, even if that party is just you.

Mine got delivered last night. It just came with the sports- which while basic is such fun!

Jumping around my sitting room howling when I won a match of tennis or boxing;)

Today I went downtown and bought Zelda and NFSC (Need 4 Speed Carbon) and a second remote and nunchuk.

Got home from work at 9pm and lost myself in Zelda since then. It's fucking engrossing. The controls need a few hours play to get comfortable with, but now Iam hooked on them!

A+ Nintendo:)

now I want one!!!!!!!!! Im gonna sell my Gamecube in a few months when more games are available and then save the other 230$ and buy it. Cause I got 8 gamecube games and the possibilty of buying all those old skool games rocks. No other system has backwards compatibility and the ability to offer old skool games. Especially for cheap prices! Rock on Wii. I can't wait to play one and I already know its a good step in the video game industry. :) :) :)

can someone send me a nunchuck? i only have one and aus stores haven't gotten their second batch since the wii released yet.
i'd pay with paypal.
pwease!

Ps3 is backwards compatibility of every playstation game since 1995 when it came out, thats ALOT of games.

And Xbox360 also plays the old xbox games.

Get your facts right girlfriend!

i would have said something, but he used the conjunction "and" meaning that another system would have to be backwards compatible in addition to having a library of classic games from previous systems to download. ;)

anti-wii observation: OMG virtual console games are a fucking ripoff, people. They're free on the internet. They're called roms.

haha yea the ps3 does shit all over wii

but the wii is pretty cool just to fuck around with ill prolly buy it.

how come no one has mentioned the 360? while not nearly the console we expected and really nothing more than a more powerful more integrated version of its predecessor, halo 3 is gonna be fuckin nuts.

haha.

^Because this is a thread about the Wii.

Gee, I wonder why there is no talk of the 360. 8(

And yet here we are, with a Wii thread on a non video game discussion board with 100 replies, most of which are "wow, i love it". There really isn't much of a PS3 thread here, though there's plenty of news about how it bombed at launch, and how that kid got shot by a cop over one.

I hate to repeat the nintendo party line on this issue, but it really does fit. There isn't one best console, just like there isn't one best car. They're designed to do different things. I wouldn't be like "OMG MY CHEVY SHITS ALL OVER YOUR PORSCHE!!!!11 WAT?! IT CAN"T EVEN HOLD 6 PEOPLE?!? LOLZZ!"

They're different. The Wii get shit upon in the graphics department, the playstation gets shit on in the fun, affordable, and interesting catagories. ;) :D

Besides, how fun is the playstation going to be when namco, square, capcom, konami, and ubisoft all abandon Sony to develop for xbox and wii because of the ps3's high overhead, low install base, and fucking arcane SDK?

For the record, I too am interested in seeing what halo three looks like/plays like. Bungie has been letting leaks slip like clockwork for the past month or so about how dissapointed they were internally about Halo 2, and about how they promised eachother that the third one was going to be really, really awesome.
