Shards is popular in sydney. We also started calling it pulse/poles ie "do you have any poles?" for some reason but pretty sure that was just my mates, i think someone made it up one night when we were fucked haha

And we used pingers for pills.

I still think/agree that the most annoying is when someone calls meth crack, its so stupid!

Im slowly getting used to junkie, i just had a bad experience with an ex-friend in a nightclub one night over the stupidest shit and he said it to me prompting a knee-jerk jab to his nose. I think i found it derogatory because i was just badly addicted to opiates at the time

I can see what you mean with regard to the glass pipes being similar and all.

However this is what I used (or something very similar to) for smoking freebase coke (aka pure crack):

Also freebase coke/crack makes a crackling sound (hence the name) and we usually used a mini-blowtorch on it (but i have seen severe crack addicts smoking it out of just the glass stem, without a spherical bowl on the end like the shard pipe, and a normal lighter before).

Shards bubble and generally just requires a lighter (although we have used jet lighters on the pipe before)...

I hope this clears up any misconception held between "crack" and "meth"

I think most of us are well aware of the difference between the drugs IMO people just use the term 'crack' because they're silly, I don't think that the name came about because people didn't actually know the difference, some dick mobs just think it sounds 'cooler'.

To be honest i dont like any slang that much because of the confusion. You can still be discrete and use proper terms if youve half a brain.

A good code when discussing drugs and associated illegal products is not hard to invent and should be as cryptic to the untrained eye as possible. I find people mainly use these annoying slang terms in general conversation, and to be frank, some of the drug slang that people use really makes me embarrassed for them.
