Whats the story behind your nickname?

This is somewhat long-winded, so please bear with me
I took my nick from the same comic series as MorpheusDaq (The Sandman, by Neil Gaiman, an excellent work of literature, I highly recommend it. Available in trade paperbacks. Visit a comic store and pick an issue up, you won't be dissapointed).
Anyway, The Corinthian is a living representation of a nightmare, and he escapes into 'our' world from The Dreaming, the realm which Morpheus presides over. The Corinthian (true to his nature) becomes a serial-killer, and is eventually hunted down by Morpheus and destroyed. Later in the series, The Corinthian is recreated in The Dreaming where (still true to his nature) he proves to be a valuable aide to Morpheus in a time of crisis.
This, to me, shows that even though we are the same person to ourselves, we can act and be percieved by others in a different light if we are placed in different circumstances.
Sorry if that's a bit confusing, but it is the best way I can describe how I feel without writing a four page essay (as it is this damn post is too long). So i'll go now.
the corinthian.
p.s. It's good to see another X-Men fan out there. Archangel and Gambit are two characters that should have been included the movie, but hey, it'll be worth seeing Wolverine and Sabretooth go at it, so i'm not that dissapointed.

Anyone here remember the old saratoga?
DRUM N BASS on Thursdays
HELLFIRE on Sundays
ahhhh, those were the days!!!!

Well an arc is sorta bent and so am I most of the time.
Actually it originated back in my Amiga days (now that's going back a bit!) when I used to run a bulletin board called the Black Lagoon. Archimedes was the name of the Owl that hangs around Merlin in Disney's Sword in the stone, I liked the sound of it so I started using it on the bulletin board but "Archimedes" was a handful to type so I cut it down to "Arc".

some of my fav movies are mafia/mobster classics like the godfather, and fat tony always seemed to be the top of the pyramid. so when i think about it its really quite egotistical...
and if ure wondering, i'm not fat, i'm just big boned.

and i spose coz it also has drug ties, ie mafia controlling drug markets, so it just seemed perfect 4 use on BL.
and thatd b that.
btw - morpheusdaq - i always assumed your nick came from THE MATRIX. coz that guy is awesome, as is neo.

my first e was so unforgetable. never had any drugs before and did not know what to expect from an e. so when it hit me, it was like - "woo... what is happenning to the floor!!!"
i felt like walking without gravity! i went running around the club, up and down the stairs and i can't feel the floor beneath me. the people around looked like angels and i felt like i'm in heaven.
6 years later (now), i come across a word to describe that feeling - "cloudwalking".
"cloudwalking" is the title of a recent trance track by pulser. i was coming down from a roll when i heard it. i thought it sounds great and reminds me of my first e.
on the next day, cloudwalker was born in bluelight...

its my-brain - and i'll fight for the right to alter its chemistry
i've been using it for about five years, when i started announcing on PBS, and also when i write articles on the few occasions where i don't want to use my real name

Was looking for a new i-net name and listening to Acid Flash 2. Track 2 came on and I had my name. I looked it up in the dictionary and it was perfect as synaesthesic terms in language add to the overall accuity of a phrase. I have to be accuitive because of my birthday, as do/did Sting, Groucho Marx and Ghandi.

Indeed Dr Carl got it right (see below). I like the the example of being on the dancefloor going off tap with the tunes cranking so bad you can taste 'em. Lately I've been getting that from Anthony Pappa's album, especially Roaches and Boomerang.

Sythaesthesia,
Dr Karl was talking about the condition Synaesthesia. apparently it's when you percieve sounds in a sense other than sound. imagine hearing the word ummm...pumpernickel and see the sky go red.

Well, my first name's Cam, and my last name is a Mc name, as in McDonald's. School friends used to call me Macca, but it was unoriginal, so I swapped a couple of letters around, I think, I can't remember now, but anyway, the end result was cammac!!!!!

Listening to Enervate, by Transa when I registered.
I thought it was a nice word, but looking it up in the dictionary a few weeks later I found out otherwise :-(
Anyone know if there is a word for the opposite of 'enervate' ???

When I was at my first bush doof, e-ing off my head, I wandered over to my car, and noticed my numberplate starts with "pkn".
I ended up having a brief conversation with the car, it went a little something like this.
me- "you think your pkn?, I'm peaking harder than you!
Thought me calling myself "pkn" was quite fitting.

Well I am short... bet no one guessed that one. I got called Gnome at Uni, this turned into Gnomie... and then there were silly jokes where people would say to me "You Gnomie?" and really confuse me
smile.gif

I have lots more stories about that but they are way to boring and way too long ago.
Other people may know me by my other name:
Mr Good Vibes
I was called this because when I am peaking I love to wander around the place giving people good vibes and trying to improve their experience... I get a real kick out of it.
Unfortunatley sometimes when I am coming down I go from Mr Good Vibes to Mr Dickhead who should keep his mouth shut, and leave his computer off... ahhh well.

this is deffinatly an interesting thread, my nick pretty much comes from my initials (DK)& my view of "mainstream" society at the moment (decaying). it all fits pretty well dont you think?
