Random what was the act of greatest physical violence that you have ever committed?

This is not appropriate for TDS. If OP would like me to move it to the Lounge let me know.

Hmm, I see your point Mal.

I'll actually move it into LAVA for now as I get the sense @jose ribas da silva wanted something off-topic about experiences but more serious than TL. Though if not, just let me know jose.

really don't know which one is the best forum for this thread. It sounds to me like "the dark side" because violence is dark, anyway, I am not receiving alerts from a thread that I have created, why this?

the last post I received an alert from this thread was the post from G-chem, after that, several posts were done and I did not receive an alert, neither from the bell icon above nor from email. The thread has been receiving new posts and I cannot follow it except by visiting it all the time to check what's going on. This is happening with me constantly, not getting alerts from my own threads, and also from the threads that I have commented and wanted to follow.

I got an alert again when you mentioned me in your post @CFC

As a suggestion, perhaps one can get an alert all the times that a thread that one has commented is updated, it would be a more dynamic and inviting experience for the bluelighters =)

The reason it's not right for TDS is because a lot of people there post about help with abusive situations, or are traumatized by violence, so it's triggering for people.

I really am not a violent person and have never been in a serious fight, or needed to be. The most was one time in Boy Scouts, this kid in my troop was following me around trying to grab my junk and being super annoying. I had just gotten my yellow belt in karate (LOL), and after warning him a few times I kicked him in the chest and he fell on his back and I straddled his chest and started punching him in the chest repeatedly. I was not trying to hurt him, just make him stop. I think he kinda liked it because he was laughing. The scoutmaster pulled me off him. =D He stopped though.

Fighting's not my thing. I'd do it if I had to protect myself or someone else though. I've just never had to resort to violence to protect. For that I am lucky.

Oooooo twigs 😂 I’m funny as fuck when I drink
Got a lot of respect for anyone that does martial arts, MMA, boxing etc.
it teaches self control and takes a lot of dedication.
With how violent the uk is becoming i find it’s always good to be capable of defending yourself. i go gym to lift weight then do some boxing. Basic stuff like heavy bag and pads.
if I came up against a trained fighter I’d be fucked. It would jus help if I had to defend myself against average joe nut cases lol

Yup I train to beat 98% of the fucks out there. The 2% that trains better than me likely have equal or superior self control to me.

In other words if your acting a dumbass and starting shit with random people, very likely I’ll do just fine.

That said, even the best trained needs to bite their lip on occasion. Like the time I got surrounded at a party way out in the sticks by 15 drunk as hell rednecks. I let them say everything they wanted to say while my hand was firmly on a liquor bottle and I slowly back stepped out.

i've seen lots of fights while buying crack and heroin. often people give each other a moment to wrap their hand in a tshirt or other piece of cloth. both because the fight is to create resolution not harm, and if you hit someone in the teeth with no barrier there's a good chance of your hand getting infected.

but once as i was walking to work i saw a group beating a man to death in the middle of the road downtown cincinnati. i don't know street names. it was the intersection of the road coming from fountain square and the the road with the old enquire building. in front of a row of cars. about three guys taking turns jumping on his head and arms with all their body weight. i called 911. it was at least 10 minutes before i was connected to an operator. i figure he was dead or close enough at the time i initiated the call. by the time the call got through, for sure. the operator wanted to know all these details like what they were wearing and skin color and whatnot. i had reached my building and was in the elevator on my way up to the office. i couldn't even remember how many. didn't care. i was calling in case a squad car was close enough to save his life. after the fact, i had no interest in providing details. even if i had recalled.

not an act i committed. still feels in theme with the thread.

That's terrible and one of the reasons I don't have faith in authority or the police. That and they made up a reason to stop and arrest me and then charge me with a crime unrelated to that made up reason.

Also unrelated but why is the B in your Bluelighter title lowercase?

A couple years back, I was trying to escape me ex-bf/dealer. The abuse was terrible. I finally ran away one day. Him knowing I only had a bout two people that would talk to me at the time, we’ll he found me.
I was on the porch when he called and told him “if you come here, I’m going to kill you!”
He took the challenge. He pulled up to my girlfriends, I stood up and pointed the gun to the van he was in. Let off one shot. He then got out and tackled me on the porch. We were wrestling for the gun.
He got it. Then drug me by my hair and threw me in the van.
I was punching his head and trying to get the gun so I could kill him right there, tried opening the doors to jump out.
He finally grabbed my wrist and twisted it a way that I was on the ground and couldn’t move.
I paid attention to the turns he was making so I knew where we were going.
I’m from New Jersey, USA. So we ended up in Atlantic City. He beat the shit out of me and I swear if I had that damn gun, he wouldn’t be here today.
He kidnapped me for about a week. I finally broke out and ran down the highway for help.
I don’t know who’s crime is worse, my attempted murder or his attack and kidnapping. But that’s probably the biggest risk I’ve taken far as crime. I could’ve gotten 7 years in prison for letting off a gun in a residential area.
