That's the stupidest way of peeling garlic I've ever seen.

knock approves, I rest my case.
 
It's a moronic way of peeling garlic. I was under the impression communal mockery of a moron called Martha was taking place. Snoop clip was quality though so worth sitting through stupid people doing stupid things with garlic stupidly.
 
Well, since you've thoroughly debunked this peeling method, I will put it from my mind. Fiddling about with a knife is obviously the way to go!

I would, personally, omit the buffoons...

but I've often needed to peel three or four cloves, and it could work for that, and if you're cooking a big batch then I can see the need for a whole bulb.

I have to admit I did not know the crushing one clove trick :| I blame my parents.
 
See if you use the knifewhacking method you are doing two stages of preparation in one: peeling and crushing. Plus avoiding having two bowls needing washing up. Perhaps - perhaps - if you were cooking summat that involved actual shitloads of garlic you'd be better off with the shakyshaky method. Perhaps. But whacking stuff with knives is so much more fun =D

In related news, I treated myself to a chopping board and big choppy knife t'other week. Only from the pound shop so hardly the best quality knife in the world (they've been so stingy with the steel you could practically shave with the fukker) but an absolute revelation after using nowt but a small paring knife to chop stuff onna plate all these years <3
 
Pull a clove off the bulb, or 3 or 4 if you need them.

Smash them under the flat side of a cook's knife.

Chop the ends off.

The skin falls away and they're semi-crushed ready to chop.

No dicking about like those buffoons.

(I know much less about sportball than you, what tops are they? boston red sox? chicago raiders? texas rangers?)

lol, yeah I love his description of the huge pain it is to do it the normal way =D

And I'm sure that was more than 10 seconds, and there were a couple of cuts in there, and it didn't show him having to fish the bits out and get the skin off the cloves.

Have you got a proper knife.

Shambles, well done getting a new knife. You should get a better one though. Have you got a steel to sharpen it on or anything, even a shit knife will be handy if you've got a steel to sharpen it on, even if you'll need to sharpen it after every clove =D

I guarantee that knife will be next to useless after acouple of days use unless you've got a steel, oreven a sharpening stone/wetstone..(I can't use them properly,but they're good)..
