Warning about new party drug in Sydney-Red mitsibishi

ive had them in perth, was fine this way (see my report in "perth pills thread") just usuall MDMA feelings, tested up ok with marquis, i dont have any other testers but will be getting other testers and will re-check these again :)

Marquis test is Void for this issue, Luckily enough in the batch i recieved for testing, the tests showed no presence of a primary amine - MDA Meth or PMA. If any tests do do test positive to the robadope testing, theres no chance im taking the punt that its a gas bomb or MDA.

A funny thing came out of the mouth of one of my friends yesterday,
Quote " I know what mdma feels like, ive been doing it for ages, so im not worried by this whole thing, the pills i got are fine"
i said "youre the first thats gonna OD thinking like that" - PMA has same effects as MDMA

I am well aware that many of you guys are knowledgable enough to stay safe but there are many that arent. Please take the time to empower those who dont know enough to keep safe

The good red mitsubishis are an excellent pill. they have tested up brilliantly, flawlessly. Can someone provide a report of the potentially deadly pill? i have heard rumours that they have no score, writing that maybe says "death" and they look like a shonky pill. this whole scare can be resolved once someone can provide an official description.

So far there has been neither forensic nor toxicological confirmation that what we are talking about is PMA. I have been at pains to emphasize this in the press. The medical presentations as they have been described to me, sound alot like it. Although you CAN get idiosyncratic reactions to MDMA that resemble PMA (essentially an aggressive serotonergic crisis) they are pretty rare. To have 4 in the same geographical area in a 2 week period would be highly unusual, and so medical advice would have to be to not drop any of the suspected pills until a formal confirmation is obtained.:)

With a long weekend in a few states in Australia and a big dance party on this Saturday in Melbourne, I'm quite worried about the potential for a large number of people dropping in clubs and parties this weekend.

Can anyone think up an effective and informative SMS to send out that sums up the problem, explains PMA and the red mitsubishis and what to look out for, compacted into a single 160 character text message? (No, seriously)

Keeping in mind this is to send to friends who probably aren't all that interested in harm minimisation, pill testing and have probably had one of the "good" red mistubishi's recently so would be skeptical at any warning.

:\

Good luck hoptis,
The ignorant will stay ignorant, i have spent the last week attempting to empower individuals but it has proven close to impossible.

Beyond a doubt by the number of people saying they wont take them or shall chuck them proves that testing kits and testing pills should be every users number one priority.

If in doubt dont take it.

Just because someone overdoses everyone thinks PMA, pretty silly if you ask me. What are the effects of MD at High Doses? I've had purple mitzi's from last year and it was one ride. A very heavy roll. I think it's just a very high dosage of md. They come on to quick and hard to be PMA. Maybe they have a good hit of K mixed in. I've had a friend OD on At's which were md just to much for there body

While I agree there is of yet no solid evidence or test results of a PMA red mitsibishi and I also agree a big dose of MDMA can cause someone to sweat, freak out and exhibit many of the symptoms of PMA ingestion provided in the news article quoted earlier in this thread.

However I also have faith that the medical staff in sydney who have dealt with more than one occurence of similar symptoms in a short period of time should have the training to be able to recognize and be able to distinguish between a life threatening overdose of PMA and a kandy kid freaking out on a big dose of MDMA. Why there has been no blood tests or tests results of any kind I can't imagine. How the 100% definate link to the red deaths came about well we can only blame a hot headed journo I guess.....

I mean shit it could even be a rival drug importer trying a very succsessful smear campaign on their competition, truth be told I don't think anybody has really shown they really know.

So far its all speculation and the media has played a big part in beating this up into a huge PMA scare when it could quite possibly be a few isolated cases in sydney..... but hell its what the media do best grab hold of a few weak pieces of information, say a colour and a name, then work it into a national emergency.

Even so, PMA is a dangerous drug so there is no excuse for not testing your pills, though now to be even slightly confident your test result is giving you all the facts a simple marquis test on its own will not suffice.

Your life is worth more than a pill, if your unsure of the contents why take the risk.

Good point Fry-d-

there is an mdma only batch around

Via email communication today I spoke to a chemist Enlighten has delt with in the past. There have been recent siezures of red mitsubishi's and they have been GCMS tested to contain MDMA only, so we know for sure that there has been at least one batch that does not contain any adulterant. This is good news as it puts to rest the theory there is only one batch around, that contains MDMA and PMA. If you have had these recently and wondered why you havn't died (as some people on pill reports have questioned), you have probably had the MDMA only batch.

Hmm i wonder if some guy kept a couple of the old Red Mitsi's containg PMxx and sold it as MDxx, Total speculation ofcourse.

Why dont we put the overdoses down to inexperience and misuse of a party drug than speculate PMA. One MITZI is enough for inexperienced users let alone three in one hit. Everyone gets comfortable with MD and they think its safe and they can push there boundaries. Every now and again decent pills pop up and people get themselves into trouble, They should get a feel for a single dose before redosing. Common sense seems to fail in most overdose cases.

I've just picked up a bunch of these pills in Melbourne. They're visually the same as the description on pillreports.

Please be aware that while all the pills were the same colour and logo, the scores on the back were distinctly different. One set had a deep and even rectangular score, whereas the others had a thinner and fainter score. Both types of pills tested exactly the same.

Results:
Marquis = Mdxx reaction
Mandelin = Mdxx reaction
Simons = Instant blue (MDMA)
Robadope = No change (hooray: no PMA)

They haven't been dropped yet, however the tests indicate as all of the other tests being performed on these biks; no PMA, just MDMA.

:D

However, remember to test your own pills!

In the West Australian today:

Death risk in ecstasy-lookalike hallucinogen pill

An hallucinogen pill being mistaken for ecstasy had nearly killed one person and made a lot collapse, Dr Gordon Fulde, from St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, said.

The red para-methoxyamphetamine (PMA) pills had the ecstasy three-triangle symbol. The hallucinogenic stimulant raised blood pressure, temperature and pulse.

"Basically what happens is you just cook from the inside," he said.

Websites worldwide have warnings of overdoses and deaths back to 2001, including one in Adelaide.

Really helping harm-reduction this one, no helpful details whatsoever,

pills had the ecstasy three-triangle symbol
I love it...

For all we know the victim of the overdose could of been on MAOI medication or something of the such.

What the fuck is the ecstasy three triangle symbol suppose to mean. Mitsubishi=Ecstasy?????

Oh noes, that means my friend drives an "Ecstasy Lancer" :(

That could be true LD50 before i came on here i didn't know MAOI's shouldn't be mixed with MDMA (I don't take them and never have). Most people i meet wouldn't have a clue about HM or even the drugs they are taking. Knowledge is everything.
