I have refrained from political discussion on this forum for a long time, but I am very worried about the state of the UK and where we are going given the recent announcements of more cuts whilst foreign aid is increased by 8% and a blackout of any EU referendum.
Let me say straight away I'm not racist, but I don't think mosques look right on this country's landscape. It's not right that there are millions and million..... etc etc
I agree that we're all human, race, religion or nationality regardless, and should accept all others who share our country.
The Islam bombers are extremists, and not representative to the rest of the honest followers, who want to remain in our country yet have the freedom to express their religious heritage. Attributing the vile minority to every Muslim does come across racist.
Also, remember there are genuine reasons (particularly economic) why people migrate to this country. So consideration for what is going on in the world, and how the recession has really hurt other countries... should be of our foremost attention... before the "We like our football, curries", and "I Don't like seeing mosques in our land" rants. The post does read ignorantly, and disrespect towards humanity in this respect
I appreciate racism is a very sensitive subject - though I still think the OP should not be entirely discredited - and a lot of people are quick to slap on the "racist" label before considering what he is saying.
A real problem is that - some foreigners come over here because they cannot get jobs in their own countries. But the "economic crisis" reason comes as a convenient excuse. Really, they cannot get jobs because they are simply incompetent, unfriendly people, who have ruined their reputation in their own country and come here to get away.
We essentially (at times, not in every case) take the "spill over", of people unwanted in their own countries. This is very real and something I have personally witnessed.
At work, we had a Romanian worker, and he was horrible. Ripped off customers... stole from work etc etc until we fired him. He treated the country and everyone in it with utter contempt... Seems wrong that my hard earned tax money is supporting these people, or as the OP aforementioned; they take work off people in our country. These are real issues that need to be considered.
So: We should respect and accommodate all people regardless of race, nationality, religion... But there are genuine issues that need to be taken into consideration when our country, and particularly it's welfare system is taken advantage of.
That's me done for tonight. Fuck that shit. It's time for some Gin, Tropicana Pineapple Juice and my snoop doggy dogg CD...oooh yeah
