The Official NFL 2005 Season Thread

I love my football and all...but I just can't get into Fantasty-ball in the least bit. :\ Entirely too much work considering how much I'm already on-line wasting enough time!

I dont know if anyone really cares....but....

Aaron Brooks is getting benched the rest of the season.....I lost faith in him last year....He's a good quarterback but just lacks heart tbh.....

I see the Saints finally trading him....and i think he will do pretty well (probably explode knowing the Saint's luck) somewhere else....

Saints have a talented yet seriously underacheiving team :(

So, Chris Henry, my new favorite player in the league, just got busted early Thursday morning with some weed. =D

I always knew he was a smotpoker!

I'm sorry I didn't have Internet until a couple weeks ago: otherwise on page one of this thread I would have been repping the Giants really hard.

With that said, as a sports fan and a Giants fan I am really excited to see Tiki Barber achieving the level of success he has this year. With two career milestone games under the belt I don't think anyone can deny that he is an elite running back capable of single handedly altering the outcome of a game.

Add that to the fact that he is one of the most mature, literate, kind hearted players in the league and I think Tiki makes a striking counterpoint to the me first bullshit of idiots like T.O.

his twin, Rhonde, is the same way. both are deffinetely class acts.

it was such an awsome thing to watch indy lose to san diego in indy. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! i don't know why, but i despise peyton. i think it's because he's put on such a huge petistal, yet chokes hard when under pressure. i hope the pats get another chance at him in the play-offs.

^ ^ ^

They most certainly will come the second-round. In terms of this year, how can you say Manning chokes hard when under pressure? He's only lost one game....and he's been under pressure ALL god-damned season and is still top 5 in every statistical category, and has beaten every other good QB he's faced this year (with the exception of Brees...who played very, very well against the Colts).

And before you start going on a rant about how Manning's lost a bunch of times to the Patriots, just stop. That shit's in the past, and last I checked, the Colts stomped the shit out of the Patriots once this year. And they're gonna do it again come playoff time.

^ ^ ^

The Bengals would have to play mistake-FREE football in order to beat the Colts at home. And that's not gonna happen. Plus the Bungals have to not fuck it up in the first or second round. :)

The Bengals will most likely get a first round bye, and who knows. The Colts might lose in their first playoff game. The Chargers proved that to us, and the Bengals are most def better then the Chargers.

BREAKING NEWS:: Tony Dungy's son found dead in his Tampa Bay apt.

Ok, now I would predict the Colts to mos def win the Super Bowl. Dungy's gonna have a lot of motivation, I can already picture the headlines.

^Sad. :(

All i want for Christmas:

Steelers to win the next two games.

Chiefs to beat the Chargers (even though we have tie breeaker against chargers it would make it better for us if they just lose another game).

Jags to win their next two games - thus avoiding any chance of a 3 way tie between Pit, SD, and Jags - which if that happens, it is the only way the steelers wont get in the playoffs.

Then i hope we play Cincy in the playoffs.

^lol you a bungals fan? why would you want that? Seriously, not talking shit, but, we already beat you badly in your house, and played the worst game of our season (i think we had 4 turnovers) and still almost beat you in a shoot-out! And that isnt our kind of game. Not to mention Ben's broken thumb. Its going to be cold and lots of weather, i hardly think you want to be facing the steelers in that kind of situation. It just isnt a good matchup for you guys.

Which team remaining on Indy's schedule do you guys think stands the best chance of taking them out?

The only 3 bona fide shots I see are Jacksonville, San Diego and Seattle, with Jville and Seattle being road games. Of those 3, I'm inclined to go with San Diego as the best shot (even though they play at Indy), although Seattle could possibly get it done at home. Jacksonville I just don't see taking them out.

Can I call 'em or what? Just call me Jimmy the Geek. :D

Never mind that stuff about me best guessing Indy would go undefeated.

SD is a very good team imo, and they've played a brutal schedule this year. It's too bad their early season botches and the inexplicable home loss to Miami will keep them out of the playoffs.

Condolences to Tony Dungy and his family. He's a class act.

Keep in mind, Miami has beaten some really good teams this year. Denver and SD come to mind. They are a tuff team to play against.

SD had the hardest freaking schedule this year!!! I will give them that...they are a solid foot ball team, one that i can see winning a SB in the near future.

yeah yeah yeah....blah blah blah....

That's why games aren't played on paper. The Bengals have one thing going more for them than any team out there: momentum. And the game in Pitt wasn't really as close as the score showed. But hey, it'll definitely be a good game, two physical teams going at it. And have you been in Cincy lately?

The fans here are gonna extremely loud. Everybody's pumped up. We have been waiting for this for too damn long. Of course you could be right. Pitt might have Cincy's #, cause I will admit this: Whether they want to admit it or not, the nerves and the emotions for Cincy's players will be high on Playoff day. Pitt's been here, done that.

At the same time thou, Big Ben has never played a playoff game away from Heinz field, and he's going against the debatable best cb in the league, Deltha O'Neil, whom BTW has 10 interceptions already, and he isn't done yet!

now now...dont get ahead of yourself. Deltha has a lot of int's this year, but so has other CB's in the past had special seasons to then go back to their level of play the rest of their carreer. A lot of times INT's have a lot to do with luck. But yeah, he is a very talented CB.

And as a steeler fan, i must admit i am thrilled to be playing AWAY in the playoffs this year! I am sure you are aware of our inability to play well at home in the playoffs? And our road record is one of the best in the league. Hell, half the time half the opposing stadium is filled with steeler fans! there will be plenty of steeler fans at the cincy game, like always. And cincy isnt known to be an extremely loud stadium, so i really dont think any of that will be much of an issue for us.

dont get me wrong, the bungals are tuff! i would just prefer to play them than anyone else. we match up well agaisnt them in January, in the cold weather. Thats when you have to play our style of ball. and i have no idead why, but, Ike Taylor has Chads number this year! he has played some great defense against chad the first two games.

but hell, we need to just get there (playoffs) first! =D

I'd be very suprised if there were even 3,000 Steeler fans at this game. The tickets for the playoffs are already sold out, all being bought by season ticket holders. And talking to alot of them (I've been trying like hell to get a ticket), and NONE of them are selling. The word around town is this: No Yellow and Black. Unless you wanna shell out $500 plus for a ticket, you're not going to this game.

Of course we could be getting way ahead of ourself...Pitt still isn't guranteed a spot, and even if they do get in, they could end up playing Denver or Indy.
