While I wholeheartedly agree with keeping things clean - forum guidelines are more of a law than a suggestion, I will have to take exception to a few mis-truths you seem to be spreading.
All the crap about being in some of the premier games of recent years...okay, can't argue.
"Dont hate us because of who we play"? Puhlease - everybody spins that left or right - either we can't make an undefeated season because our conference is toooo haaaarrrrrddd (ala SEC, Big10+1, and ... well, I think those are the only two that spin it that way) or we shouldn't get knocked because our conference is weak or having a down year (ala everybody BUT the SEC...*including* the Big10+1 who think they can play both sides of that discussion and not sound hypocritical).
But all that aside, where I really take issue is the complete mistake of thinking you have the (or one of the) top athletic schools in the nation. Have you heard of the
"Directors Cup"? Take note - it goes to the universities who are tops in ALL SPORTS. And I will have to caveat the leader every year - Stanford - because they compete in *every* sport from water polo to basket weaving, and by participating in more sports than other schools they are in the running for more finishes than other schools. That being what it is, look at who else has consistently been in the top 5 - UCLA, Texas, and ... Florida

Hell, even Michigan has been there more than you guys.
If you want to redefine that back to just the 'major' sports, how big is that list of sports? Basketball (men only?), football, baseball?, hell I'll even let you throw hockey in there knowing half the country doesn't play it. Even if...even if, you want to pull it down to just football and men's basketball - the two you probably feel you've got the biggest presence in - you won't find yourself at the top. You can play games with how many years you wish to include in comparing schools, but you're probably on par with Nebraska and Miami from the 80's...oh, wait, no you aren't even close to that. But the idea remains - thinking you are the 'dynasty' or 'current powerhouse' when in fact you've got a few good years lucked into a bit by scheduling (then again, nearly every football champ has that, UF is no exception) but the only reason you'll continue to be talked about is because of hype. The big boy of a big conference 8) Um, sorry, Big10+1 aint that big conference

not anymore...don't know when or if it will be again.
When I hear Big10+1 football and all it's mythical history...I think of how Miami, FSU, and Nebraska still get love despite having past their usefulness. When I hear of OSU thinking they are all that....I'm wondering when that shroud of nostalgia will fall by the wayside and matchups with ND (the current ND) will be even again.
Basketball? Hah. Again, a few good years, but OSU is no Duke or UNC or UCLA or... (notice I'm not putting UF in that one either). Point is, a few good years - enjoy them, but don't spend too much time looking back because the future is here, and you aren't on top. Won't be, most certainly as a 'powerhouse'.
