the official NCAA football thread

that may very well happen. it is strange considering Illinois as a Big 10 contender... what are we talking about, basketball? however, I have had my eyes on this Illini team ever since last year. Coach Ron Zook is a legend and will have a winning program wherever her goes (I can already hear Gator fans groaning). their QB Juice Williams is one of the most fun guys to watch this year.

the Illini/Buckeye game will be the game of the Big 10. I can't get too high on the Bucks (even though they should dominate their conference). we still have to play Michigan at the Big House, and no matter how bad the Wolverines are, they can easily beat the Bucks if we are not on our A-game.

thankfully the Ohio State University has the best defense, all-around, in the NCAA.

USC lost????? oh my, what a great weekend of football! AUBURN - WON! UGA - LOST! UF - LOST! USC - LOST!!!! =D
 
USC should NOT Still be in the top 10 in any polling, i hate how they get that bump just for being USC, my mountaineers lost to the now #5 team last week and played em tough and got dropped to #13 while other teams losing to non top 25 teams stayed in the top 10... ugh atleast wv is back in the top 10 today

I agree, UF had that game, they blew it. LSU outcoached, outplayed, and outlasted UF in the second half. UF had that game and they blew it. LSU should take the championship now IMO.

So many people just suck USC's ass it's crazy. But losing to a 40+ point underdog team is weak. It's not like USC was a 3 point favorite - they were expected to win by 6 fuckin touchdowns!!! Better hope they don't play Appalachian State this year, too.
 
I still think UF is going to go places, but not this season. Now I want LSU to win out and Tennessee to Lose. we play and stomp LSU in Atlanta. But, LSU out coached us. They went on 4th and goal so much! If Florida hadn't made that Fumble we'd be talking about how Florida dominated them right now! that loss of momentum killed us, we were on our way to score.

What the fuck are you talking about we lost to the best pass defense in the nation ( yes it's ranked higher than LSU's ) And I saw that game, Woodson kinda choked under pressure.

LSU showed weakness against florida (and yes Kentucky's defense is better than Floridas... ) I whole heartedly think that the LSU game against KY will be better than I first thought, and I am starting to really think that UK can beat Florida. Georgia is an afterthought after that thumping they took from Tennesse... Neither are very good this year.

Kentucky will be bowl eligable this year no problem Probably 3rd or 4th overall in the SEC.

They'll beat Ol' miss, georgia, Tennessee... that's 8 games, right there, and they'll beat vandy... that's 9. Kentucky will be Bowl eligable.

Will they go to a BCS bowl? They'll have to beat Florida, have a damned good showing against LSU, and not lose any other games.. It is highly possible.
 
^ Yes it is in lexington... And in the first half vs. Florida LSU's defense looked like utter shit. And yes, they do have a chance vs. LSU. UK is a much better team than South Carolina, yeah they lost, but they didn't lose to South Carolina, they lost to themselves... Big difference. I wouldn't be pissed about a loss to LSU but I watched the UK SC game... I was pissed. Woodson looked like shit, the Offensive line wasn't blocking right... it was just a total pile of garbage. And I expected for SC to put pressure on woodson and things, but there was a major offensive breakdown for UK in that game. Defensively UK turned things up... And I whole heartedly believe that Uk's Defense is better than florida's... So yeah... I think Ky has a chance vs. LSU. Does it mean I think UK is a better team than LSU? No, but I think UK is good enough to come out and win at home. And this is the first time EVER in my life I have ever felt confident enough to think that about UK playing a no. 1 ranked opponent. (in football... basketball is a whole different story....)

Ill agree that UK has a pretty decent chance of beating LSU ont he road....

But your reasoning that LSU D's played like shit against UF cuz they're vunerable, whereas UK played like shit b/c they beat themselves is just hypocritical....

LSU's D tightned up in the 2nd half, produced 2 HUGE turnovers to give the O the chance to comeback and win....and well they did just that..

UK lost.....and yea thats it....they lost....you cant use style points to base your argument on in a loss

UK's jump in the polls came after a win vs. Louisville and Arkansas....Im by no means saying they werent worthy opponents....Im just saying that those wins are as big as once thought....

But again....Ill must admit....UK has a pretty decent chance playing at home especially considering LSU might be hung over after a big time emotional win against UF....

We'll see this weekend%)

LSU's next 3 games are @ UK, Auburn and @ Bama...all 3 games worry me but my gut tells me that Auburn is the one to be most worried about....LSU and Auburn ALWAYS play each other tough and it wouldnt surprise me to see AU pull off the upset to get back into the SEC race

I'm not saying that LSU's Defense didnt' tighten up in the second half, I'm just saying they showed weakness with their first half display. But you kinda re-iterated what I just said.

And I still stand by my statement I think it'll be a much better game than I first thought.

Not as many as you have said might I remind you, however there is nothing stupid about what I said. The only loss Illinois has is to a ranked, undefeated team, UF has lost twice, once to a ranked and another time to an unranked...So I stand by what I say.

And Stanford DID just beat USC so for you to act like Illinois couldn't beat UF just proves how unintelligent you can be when it comes to football. Of course ILL could beat UF, I never said it would definitely happen but of course it could!

A lil off topic but.....

Ive been saying this like forever but Booty is a fucking loser just like his older brother was when he was at LSU 6 or 7 years ago....Its the insane talent that surrounds him that makes him look average at best....

I lost what lil bit of respect i still had for the heisman when i saw that he was a pre-season favorite :p
