Been meaning to re-watch it to; saw the dub a real long time ago when it was on tv. Going to watch the sub this time.

Anybody see Mushishi; really loved that one; great to watch while coming down from a trip.
It doesn't have a real overarching plot line like most animes do. There aren't much reoccurring characters and the main character is the only one in every episode. Parts of the main characters back story do unfold in certain episodes.

Do you guys not have Hulu? It has every season(dubbed)of RK including the two from a couple years back. I'm trying to get into it, but as I remember and as is, the show has to much comedy with to little action. Granted it's good comedy and from what I remember, it gets grittier and more violent but still....

Anime in Engrish?

I recently saw and thoroughly enjoyed Animatrix, so I tried to grab a couple anime movies (ghost in the shell, count of monte cristo) but they're subtitled.. i only watch stuff as i fall asleep, so subtitles don't work for me - any recommendations for something that's dubbed?

Will def watch ghost in the shell soon when i can, even w/ subtitles it looks awesome!

Anyways, I don't know about anime like those you mentioned, but you can't go wrong with Bleach and One Piece. Both have tons of episodes, both subbed and, to a lesser extent, dubbed. www.streamop.net for one piece, if you don't want to download-- http://www.viz.com/anime/streaming/bleach for Bleach


The two are very different from each other, but both are fucking awesome. Especially if your thing is doing drugs and binge watching cartoons.
 
pretty much all animes are dubbed, some worse than others

iirc full metal alchemist (original and brotherhood) have decent dubs, probably one of my favourite animes, and it doesnt have huge arcs of filler episodes either
 
the copy of Ghost in the Shell that i have has an option for either re-dubbed or subtitled. you went through the dvd menu to be sure yours does not have both options as well? the american/english voices are great, i even prefer them to the original japanese voice actresses and actors, but the dialogue is slightly different between the two options and wording in the subtitles is superior -- not as stilted and even more meaningful. it's a great movie. enjoy.
 
wow! thanks, just saw your post am gg check right now (err, double-check, i did look 'video', 'subtitle track' already on my VLCplayer), but if that exists i'm sure it's obvious how to find it, which is f'ing great cuz i flicked through it and knew i have to see it, even if it's in weeks from now when i can properly watch 2hrs of something that i have to read (i take 2 or 3 times to watch a comedy, sometimes. subtitles while falling asleep = pointless)

It's hard to compare Bleach and One Piece, though. They're just so... different.

But fuck no, One Piece shits all over Naruto. There's a lot of Naruto fans, though, that's for damn sure. The show's doing something right, just fuck if I know what it is.

Bleach was the mother lovin' shit during the arrancar arc. After Ichigo's fight with Ulquiorra, though, the show seemed much less intense. Still good! Don't get me wrong! Just "less good" than it was up to that point.

One piece, though? I can't get enough of that god damn cartoon, from episode 1 to 650. I've always liked pirate-themed multimedia, though, so that might have something to do with it.
