The next big scene

As soon as psychedelic RC's are scheduled and demonized [Read: Publicized] by the media we will have our revolution.

How come the US never implemented an analogues act or equivalent like australia has?

^That sounds very likely. I am going to become obscenely upset if I see a 60minutes special on, "Designer Drugs: Our Children's Gateway to Hell." Yes, I'm being a facetious about the title. I know they're be a little more tactful...but nonetheless I will want to kill and cry at the same time if our media starts bashing and dragging RCs around in the mud like they're doing with methamp. currently. Yes, I know meth pretty much deserves whatever image the media gives it, regardless of accuracy. But attacking RCs as, "club-drugs" and "designer-drugs", with all sorts of 1 out of 10,000 statistics where people have died (probably from causes unrelated or loosely related to the drug(s)) I will start deciding what part of the world I want to live in where the media doesn't demonize a drug just cause some stupid jackass forgot to drink water while dancing all night.

If rc's are the next big drug, what are people going to do with them? How would a scene develop from usage of RC's? Surely there is more than just sitting around and doing drugs.

Is there another really unique rc out there that is fairfly undiscovered and stands out as much as mdma?

See the great thing about mdma was that there was no drug like it before when it hit big starting in the 80's. There was no drug on the market that could make people highly sexual, give possibly the best drug induced body buzz, have extreme emphathy towards people, and be mildy psychedelic and speedy. MDMA basically had very unique properties, and because of the drug and the technology at the time, the rave scene happened.

So lets see about the new drugs being abused today. Ketamine is becoming popular, is there a scene emerging from ketamine abuse? Is there a unique ketamine culture? From what i've seen, none so far. I think there are two types of k users, ravers and clubbers who snort it......and then the sit at ome psychonauts that IM ket and do some soul searching.

RC's are being used as well. Is there another RC out there that is more than just a hallucinogen and different than MDMA. I think a whole scene was able to develop around MDMA because the drug was different than a hallucinogen with its ability to produce empathy along with a 90% chance of feeling extreme euphoria mentally and physically. Other psychedelics like acid and 2c-e and amt seem to be more similar to eachother than to mdma. The major differences between them is body load and duration and how "clean" a trip feels.

Actually, I believe what can make an RC super unique in the sense that it has the chance of having a whole scene stem from it would be the drugs ability to produce some profound spirituality thats very unique to the drug, It would be a similar feeling that most users of the drug would experience. The feeling would be really obvious and shared among users of the drug.

Or if there was an RC that was purely highly visual or audio hallucinations or a drug that changed ones perception of touch or taste. The RC would still produce lots of euphoria, but not be very mentally psychedelic. One would not really trip mentally.

I know there are some rc's out there that already have some of these features. But are the features as obvious as MDMA, do they stand out as much? Are the features super unique?

I feel like I'm rambling on.......Its been a while since I've had trouble sleeping.

Pharms. We aren't in the pharm hayday (40-60s), but we got a lot of white kids on pharms thesedays.

Heroin seems to be making a big comeback IMO. At least in my area.

^
Heroin's always been popular in certain areas more than others. i.e. NYC/NJ, Philly, Baltimore, Chicago, Seattle...

But I see what you mean by a comeback. I think heroin usage definetly went up since the whole OxyContin thing...

<----Raver who has only IMed ketamine.
I'm really frustrated by all this K-comeback talk. I love K and it seems to be non-existant in the midwest. Where is K making this massive comeback and how do I get there? =P

Who cares what the next scene is? I will just do the drugs I enjoy, the hell with what everyone else is doing.

Yea man dope never went outa style out here....If you aint a regular-ass stoner/drunk like most ppl in this state, there is a good chance u fuck with dope or oc's. I use to think everybody had a heroin addicted older sister/cousin/brother/mom/uncle/best friend/boyfriend......It seems like any one person you meet can name at least one person they know (Not just be aquainted with , but is a member of their "circle) whose on dope, its nutz. Iunno if its like that other places. but i cant seem to meet one person whose life heroin aint touched...Its like the token dopehead.

egor's the kid who didt play with the other children he just sat off to the side and read. Didn't ya? Ya little party pooper!

as far as scenes go, they're always driven but music, and that's why they came and went - grunge music, hippie, disco etc the music all had limited life spans. The electronic scene keeps moving and changing shit it's been going since the late 80's that's coming on 2 decades - A generation has been forged by DJ and MC's

I can't really see that changing anytime soon, just as a particular electro vein loses it's appeal another pops up to take it's place - Think techno --> Trance --> House --> garage --> Drum n Bass --> Breaks -->

Man I'll bet you right now there's some crazy little pommy dude with his short hair gelled down over his forehead with blue jeans, white sneakers and a green lonsdale cardigan just spinning shit in his bedroom waiting to bust out on the stage with

"Ow ya oolll dooin, I'm DJ Rod Walloper from London innit, an' I've gowt the layis shi' right 'ere for ya, I'ike cawl it trance breaks hop drums innit techno"

^^
lol

Breaks died a while ago. We're in the middle of an electro-house phase at the moment. Though that should be coming to an end soon, tech-minimal could be the next big thing.

Well, that's Sydney anyway.

pharms seem to be only getting more popular. but with the growing popularity of jam bands, weed, shrooms, and LSD could have a fighting chance.

thats totally true^^...dope has always been huge in bmore, all of the mid atlantic NE states really. and hanging around with other drug users it is totally common for ppl to sit around doin oxy or dope like its nothing. i guess im the token dopehead for my family. tho my godfather lived in bmore for a long time, now lives in jerz and still does dope. i didnt think he would be kicking the habbit up there anyways...good dope in NJ.

and yeah, i think heroin/opiates are going to be even bigger in the coming months, years w/e. look at all the pharm abuse of Rx drug, especailly opiates. in the rap community you have ppl rappin about codeine and promethazine cough syrup...gettin high and leanin. there is pretty much a whole style of music for codiene abusers (screwed and chopped)

then in the south west, they are havingf a problem with "cheese" tar dope made powdery with a few crushed tylenol PM's.

In the middle east i read this is going to be a bumper opium crop this year, surpassing last years numbers. i mean that is to be argued whether its true or not, but there is a ton of heroin coming out of afghanistan.
