SONN, how would you describe the subjective difference between this "clean, medical grade" LSD and inferior street acid?
Lately I have become very curious about the "clean" LSD debate. When I first looked into it, years ago, I remember reading skeptics arguing that "LSD is LSD", and that any differences between clean and dirty acid are merely due to set & setting, or in the worst case, other drugs sold as LSD. Which I believed.
But it seems that every time I buy LSD from a different source, there is a remarkable difference in the effect. Most of the blotters sold to me have felt similar enough to each other that they must be part of the same family of chemicals, presumably lysergamides. But have they all been LSD-25? And if so, what on earth accounts for these variations in effect? Some psychoactive byproducts of LSD synthesis?
Once, a vendor was selling blotters that she claimed were dosed at 150 micrograms or so. She wanted to prove it, so she claims she sent them to a lab to measure the dosage per hit. When she got the results, she seemed disappointed, and said, "Well, the lab tells me that the blotters have only 90 micrograms of LSD. I don't know what happened. Maybe they degraded in the mail?". I bought some of these blotters, and they were so completely different from any other blotter I've tried, that I'm convinced they were not LSD, and must be some other chemical, maybe not even a lysergamide.
It is annoying to have to deal with the black market, and all of its mysteries.
