That article really is ridiculous, pretty sure it got posted in the mega busts thread a while ago as I rememeber reading it before. Definately is packed full of misinformation but I haven't come to expect any less from the media most of the time. :/

That article is not misinformation, as just absolutely pathetic research.
If you read it, all they've really researched is it's a hallucinogen, so they proceed to give the same old warnings you'd give for any illegal drug. They just don't know anything about it, and frankly I'd want to keep it that way.

The less most people know about this amazingly powerful compound the better, there is way too much they could use to start a massive scare campaign against this ancient medicine.

straight from the horse's...oops, sorry - straight from the pig's mouth. i find the idea of dmt "labs" being "a threat" to "health, property and the environment" pretty fucking laughable. it's insulting our intelligence to think that people aren't able to inform themselves and easily disprove this nonsense.
they're just using the same logic that apparently applies for methamphetamine manufacture and use, but it's absurd to think the two things are interchangeable:

"Taking these drugs is a high-risk activity, especially as the composition and potency varies significantly and cannot be adequately controlled during the manufacture process," he said.

"People who take these drugs may end up in hospital in the short term either as a reaction to the chemicals or from their actions under the influence of the drug.

i'd love to see the statistics on dmt hospitalisations.
of course, the fuzz don't need to reference their claims. they're omniscient, donchya know?

frankly i just think it's sad that people found themselves getting busted for making spice. as i think i speculated in another thread, it's hard to understand how this could even happen without them getting ratted on.

mate has been givin the dmt a big nudge for a good lenght of time and recently has had a few health issues anyone out there got crook or had any serious side effects from dmt like throat damage or minor paralysis for short time spans just curious to see if its whats makin him a bit ordinary

have you seen a dr about it? ...er, your mate i mean.

freebase dmt is a caustic substance, and i've certainly burnt my throat/mouth/lips from vaporising it from a glass hash oil pipe, but i'm not sure if that was caused by the heat or the alkalinity.
long term problems though, i'm not so sure about. how purified was your spice? any chance of residual precursors left over in what you took?
and do you take other drugs? i have always considered dmt fairly safe as far as physical issues go, but my use has always been quite moderate.
can you elaborate on the 'minor paralysis'? is this something that effects you right after consumption, or is it sleep paralysis?
i've certainly heard of (and experienced) sleep paralysis after the use of stimulants, but i've not heard of it linked to dmt before.

can you give us a bit more info?

i vaped some dmt today, i got transported to a higher intelligences hospital bed, and they gave me abit of a medical to see if i was healthy. :D

fuck my last dmt trip was HELL smoked way way wayyyyyyyyyy too much.smoked bout 150-200mg in a bong (thought the bloke said it was a double dose bag no a 6 dose bag ) took the hit and stright away i knew it was gonna be bad i barley handed the bong to my mate leaned back on the couch opend my eyes for a second and the fire was all bending and looked really evil lol.THEN it got bad! felt like i was dribbling and talking incoherent shit then the 2 tripping people that let us use there camp and my mate began worrying and trying to bring me around started slapping me ect ect i could hear them saying hes not looking so good shiiit ect ect and that just made things worse then medics were called over and i could hear people saying cmon man you can make it dont die on me and other shit like that.all of a sudden bang i was back and apprently no medics were called over no one tried to bring me to all i did was sit there n pretty much nod out for 10 mins,NEVER AGAIN or well not for a very long time

hahahaha yeah it was a fucking dumb move on my behalf but yeahhhh i dont really think twice about things when im pissed.i ussaly measure my dmt doses but didnt bring any scales to a doof and i tho0ught i heard the bloke say it was a double dose so i thought aw yeah i'll just tip in just over half.lawdy lawdy it fucked me up not doing dimi again in a looong time,i tend to not use it for like 3-4 months then hit the stuff hard for a night then lay off it again for another 3-4 months 60mg is my peferd dose not fucking 200mg lol

That is so much DMT man. Like I would rather drink my own piss that smoke that much DMT, that's how much DMT that is.

Lesson learned I'd say. I haven't smoked any of my batch, as I too don't have any scales and am not keen for a monster dose. Better safe than sorry.

lol so much for never again had 2 doses last night.first dose i didint break through n everyone else did so i was jellioues n went out to the car put music on and had a hefty 60-70mg dose it got me to where i wanted to be.SUUUUCH a amazing subatance!!
