Luckytaak, I appreciate your honest and civil explanation. However, it does seem to me that you have some sort of deep discomfort with things anus-related. Why should it bother you to read someone's report about the way they took a drug? Why should that give the gay community a bad name? I very much doubt that most people would read through this and end up thinking "Oh man, all those damn gay people! All they do is shove drugs in their ass and tell everyone about it!". Not to mention, why do you seem to assume that the people discussing rectal administration are gay? It's not fun, it just works a lot better for some things, and hence the small price to pay (discomfort) is outweighed by the benefits.
The thing is, it's a valid form of administration. Pharmaceutical companies make suppositories because rectal administration is way that doctors use for certain things and which some people are required to do daily for various conditions. May I suggest that you consider the possibility that the discomfort you obviously feel over the thought of it is brought on by your being brought up in a society begun on puritan ideals, which has resulted (as long as you're an American anyway - which I'm pretty sure you are) in our society having this strange taboo regarding sexuality/body parts/etc. My point is that feeling uncomfortable at the mere discussion of it, not to mention actually expecting everyone to censor themselves for you and feeling like you're right in asking that, is the result a neurotic thought process in your mind put there by the way you were raised, and unless you can honestly live your life in such a way as to accomodate everyone's neurotic desires about any little thing they are repulsed by, well, you should be able to realize that it's a silly fear/disgust/repulsion. That's beyond fine if you don't want to use rectal administration. Hell, it's not comfortable, I can understand. But how can you request that everyone stop talking about it and make some wild assertions as to its reflection on the gay community with a straight face? I'm repulsed by only a few things, and those are needless violence and cruelty, oppression, and eyeballs. So I'd like to ask that you please keep ANY and ALL discussion of eyeballs and touching eyeballs, such as putting in eyedrops and contacts, out of the forums. It reflects badly on the optometry field, and we need to keep Bluelight image neutral!
Sounds silly, yes. But some people ARE disgusted by eyeballs and discussion thereof (like my friend

). But more importantly, I hope you can realize that the rectal thing is primarily a societal thing imprinted on you for no good reason. Although of course we are all affected strongly by our cultures in many, many ways, once you realize you've been behaving in some way that is illogical and neurotic (being so disgusted with the concept of rectal administration - not "playing with your asshole" by the way - that you expect that everyone else should stop discussing that drug taking method), well, it would be just plain silly to keep acting that way. It's just your ass. it has no connection whatsoever to homosexuality, except that homosexuals use it sexually in many cases. Correlation does not equal causation.
