The all-new Girlie Thread: Post your beauty secrets here!

Hey mine are Wahl also!
You could probably pay to have them sharpened. I hope so, mine should last for ages I try and look after them.
Oiling them is the most important thing, if the blades get rusty they are buggered. :)

Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, and it's not just beauty per se, but galadarling.com is fantastic too. Clothes, style, life, advice, make up, hair... she writes about anything and everything, and is a beautiful, positive person, just amazing :D
^Haha, she looks cute but [and no offence intended here] I just can't bring myself to read anything someone's written and then signed off with;
Super love and cupcakes!
:\:|:(

I quite like Gala Darling, you should try and push past the sign off, CotB! :) I like how she's actually in Melbourne so cool things that she finds or whatever are actually relevant to me. I really like her style.

Unfortunately she seems to be spending more and more time talking about a particular type of new agey bullshit therapy where you tap different parts of your body... sigh. I guess it is a lot less irritating than crapping on about God.

^L_P. I don't speak positive all the time. Try reading my posts and get past your colour bias, dude.
Just cos' I write in pink random text doesn't mean the content is super-cheery-cupcake-drivel.

There's a website that's handy for forgetful chickas like me, called My Monthly Cycles When you get your period each month you just click on the calendar there, then after a while it can predict when your next one will be, and send you an email when its coming. I've got mine set to send me an email 3 days before my period with the subject "Beware the Crimson Tide!". Its free, but I think you can give them money to access more crap. I don't, and it doesn't ever bug me too.

Nah, no way. New Ageism is more annoying than anything any other religion has managed to cough up. The fact that these people believe themselves superior to the generally religious whilst still falling, hook, line, and all that jazz, for anything without the least scrap of proof to believe in only makes them all the more annoying.

And when you point out all these inconsistencies and flaws they smile and say something positive. Loathe is not strong enough a word.

COTB you wear like Strawberry Shortcake clothing or something do you not? :)

I think lostpunk was trying to say that a gimmick like that is not a reason to discount what someone is saying, in either your or Gala's case.

That chick actually legally changed her name to Gala

I prefer New Age crap because I see older Christianity type religions as incredibly evil, and they have done much, much more harm than crystals or whatnot.

I just hate that all these people touting New Age rubbish think they are on a new path when they're falling for all the same tricks. Somewhere down the line someone's making a lot of money and laughing.

^ We did the same for Mr Samadhi - a pair of Wahl clippers, and while they're starting to go slightly blunt now, they've saved a HEAP of money.

Same here - clippers for when the boy shaves his head... but I've actually started doing his normal hair cut too!

After one too many occasions of "Yeah I understand what you want" and him coming out with short back and sides, he said "I want it shorter, but still messy. How hard can it be. Jo could do it.... Jo! Can you do it?" And I did, and it looks tops!

I actually tried the tapping thing, and whether or not it works for changing your life, it really does feel good. You finish up, take a deep breath, and literally feel lighter. I do it now when I feel stressed :)

Is there a such thing as a non sticky and really fast absorbing fake tan? I have tried that dove summer glow or whatever it is one and it's really yucky on... takes forever to absorb, and it says on the bottle to apply every day for 5 days but i just can't stand it! I imagine they mean for me to build up a tan, then after that maintain it.... it's been 4 days and i don't think its doing that great of a job.

I just want a little color for the summer without fucking up my skin too much with the sun :\ But then again, this fake tan shit seems really high maintenance. :(

Garnier is the goods. It's the fastest absorbing one I've tried and I had quite a few people comment on my colour when I was using it regularly last summer.

If I stay out of the sun for ages, i do become paler, but it just takes far less time for me to get colour than others, due to my heritage.

So the tanning creme does make your hands orange? :\

I get color in the sun too because of my back ground (french, german) but i just don't wanna do it via the sun.

And yeah from what i have seen on some people i think the tanning cream does make your hands go yuk. As well as your knees and elbows.

I might give the idea a miss. lol
