The all-new Girlie Thread: Post your beauty secrets here!

all this talk of day spas has that line from zoolander stuck in my head

Uhh Earth to Matilda, I was at a day spa. Day, D-A-I-Y-E. Okay?

Oh, and UnS, there is heaps of dark, interesting and orange colours, you should check it out.

I'm trying on 'Musc Koublai Khan' by Serge Lutens at the moment, and it smells a bit crotchy. I'm not sure whether that's a good or bad thing yet.

I need to buy a new perfume for Summer! I'm also looking forward to buying some new makeup, Benefit counter here I come....<3

^We should totally do a makeup shop when you're down here next. :)
Benefit, MAC, Chi-Chi, etc. I can show you all of my faves! =D

Re: perfume, I've been using solely BPal or Possets oils - they last so so much longer, and you need the tiniest dab on your pulse points to get the most lovely scent. :)
I'm never going back. <3

^I use Prive at Chadstone. Started going there a few years ago, and haven't looked back.
Reasonably priced [a cut is $60-] and excellent staff - they have a clean and great looking store with loads of quality product. :)

I got Christina Agulera's perfume from Dale at Christmas... it's divine.

Samadhi: I'm really looking forward to going on my maternity leave 'cause I'm going to treat myself to some pampering things... pregnancy massage & a pedicure... oooh yeah.

Also I must remind anyone who hasn't been to this site in a while (or anyone new who hasn't discovered it yet)

It's an awesome blog with heaps of beauty ideas, tricks and so on. Heaps entertaining style, it's addictive reading! I want to try out her under-eye triangle illuminator trick sometime. Sometime I actually buy an illuminator makeup stick that is :D

Seriously, not being rude here, but since when was Chadstone North-East?

More like South East.....

As i said, wasn't trying to be rude, was just wondering whether you made a mistake or i had been tripping my whole life and Chadstone was indeed in the north :)

Well if you want the best hairdresser in Melbourne I can recommend you Pete at Shibui (its on Toorak Rd so might be a bit of a hike :( ) - he's bloody expensive but bloody awesome!
$85 for a cut with him.
http://www.shibui.com.au/ thats their website but its just being updated so nothing much on there.

Also, I don't know if it's been mentioned, and it's not just beauty per se, but galadarling.com is fantastic too. Clothes, style, life, advice, make up, hair... she writes about anything and everything, and is a beautiful, positive person, just amazing :D

$60 and $85 for a haircut. Jesus.
I bought a good quality pair of clippers in approx 2001 (about $100) and have given myself about 500 hair cuts since then.
Sucks to be a girl I guess. :\

^ We did the same for Mr Samadhi - a pair of Wahl clippers, and while they're starting to go slightly blunt now, they've saved a HEAP of money.
