I like how Denzel got his Oscar for playing a complete cunt,afte years of being nominated for playing upstanding gentlemen!
 
Traning Day is a good film. :)

Just watched the Prestige, wasn't as great as I'd been told, very average in fact. I had to keep skipping scenes though as it was freezing all over the place so I missed parts of the story and had to make educated conclusions about what had happened.
 
Prestige is ok,but if you want to watch time travel, then PRIMER (2004)

No doubt of course you will find it boring.Or too hard to understand.
But it is the best one.

primer is a head do-ing masterpiece, every time i watch it there's things i completely missed before. it's so stupidly good and complex!

Its got a storyline and a purpose.Its just rather complex as it involved time travel. Its also low budget so theres no effects. And even people who have seen it 5 times don't fully get it.
Basically it takes the concept of something that can make time travel possible and does it in an entirely believable way.But it become complex. However unlike most time travel films that involve paradoxes, this one doesn't. Thats why its the best:)

New Grenada is a planned community set in the desert where there is nothing for the kids to do, save for a rec center - which closes at 6 PM. Just watched this after wanting to see it for years. T'wasn't quite as great as I was hoping, but nevertheless I still enjoyed it. I could definitely see the influence it had on films such as Dazed And Confused (a favourite of mine) not to mention it had a brilliant soundtrack. Acting was a tad cheesy, but sometimes that only adds to the flavour. :)

It sounds like it could be good so I've added it to my lovefilm list. Been meaning to watch OldBoy for a while too which someone mentioned (in another thread?) so have made that high priority.

Don't mind no effects nor low budget films as long as the story line is solid and it's entertaining. I just don't like films which are style over substance. Films being artistic is great as long as they're backed up with sold plot etc. :)

It is a good film! I was genuinely surprised at just how good it was. One of those movies that you expect nothing and get the goods :)
 
well ive got rocknrolla and primer ready to watch because i was too involved in adult material last night, lol, what with the PV and all that. I will try and watch one of them tonight though
 
The one movie that I have enjoyed is Candy with Ledger and Abbie Cornish

^ Agreed, aside from the odd bit of very corny voice over dialogue. Over all I thought it was a good film, if a little depressing.

edit - I was talking about Candy.
