SKL, I don't understand what you mean when you say, "the outmoded but politically correct idea of the tabula rasa, or that every child should expect college, or whatever."
I cannot deny that Hillary Clinton is indeed the face of the New World Order, and I agree that we've been trading , "sterility, castration, submission, thought reform, trading our humanity for a safe space and our birthright for a bourgeois lifestyle." This is the first year I've bothered to register to vote even though I could have many years ago, because to be quite frank, I see Mr. Trump as something holistically more insane. His world view is of instead reforming society, to oppress all he can and sit on top of them with all his buddies and live that bourgeois lifestyle at all our expenses.
While I hate to admit that my vote will be for the Democrats, it's because I see no other choice. We've all been boxed into a corner, where it's either we follow Mr. Trump to our untimely doom and watch as everything falls apart around us, or we follow Hillary and watch as we're being fooled into thinking things aren't falling apart around us. This white house race has been the most despicable of all time. No one vehemently supports either party anymore in their right mind, but what choice have we? Everyone has to look at all the evil and decide for themselves which is the evil they want to live with. Me? I'm going to hopefully live with Clinton's tyranny rather than support the systematic destruction of our country. I know you (SKL) feel passionately that Hillary and the Democrats want to tear down all the morals and mores of many millennia of social evolution, and while I mostly agree, I believe that some amount of what you so hate in this neo-liberalism is alright, sometimes even good. If it weren't for Obama's health care act, I wouldn't be able to go to the doctor right now. If I up and got deathly sick, the Republicans would rather I died than got the care I needed to live. I cannot support someone who wishes me dead. I'm not bothered in the least that two men or two women can get married; I know that for many, it's primarily a matter of semantics, that marriage is a sacrament not to be soiled by the nastiness of homosexuality. I can understand that, but perhaps if y'all (y'all being general) had approached it more in that manner rather than just hooping and hollering that homo's were evil and need to be shut out of society, you maybe, just maybe could have had your way. I hate the political justice warriors just as much as you, believe me. Safe spaces, trigger warnings? What is this fucking bullshit? Society shou;ldn't be obligated to protect you from your own damned demons. I get uncomfortable evety time I see someone trying to kill themselves in a movie or book, because I once wanted to and tried to off myself... but I buck the fuck up and get over it, because that's how life is. Those people who support that need to ask themselves what the purpose of higher education is. Have they ever even considered how one gets over a traumatic event??! You face it right the fuck down! Hiding from your problems achieves nothing... and it truly is sad that the youth now (God I hope somehow I'm considered a generation ahead of them) believe that by hiding from their fears, they'll never have to get over them. This is where the pussification of society is happening and it disgusts me more than any, any other thing going on in this country right now. That's saying a lot, because the drug war sure as hell bothers me... but this? This is just downright absurd, and this is where Huxley's Brave New World is becoming our reality.
I agree with you Solipses, and said as much in different words above.
