official NHL 06-07 thread! (free agent signings updated on page 11)

i was hoping to make a trip to quebec actually to catch some QMJHL games!!! theres a lot of rising stars in that league (same as with ncaa). i will probably be in canada sometime in june though, and probably the quebec area.
 
Damn, did anyone see the Wings Sharks game last night? Pretty intense. I was very happy to see the Sharks pull it off, and Cheechoo was working his ass off. I'm glad it paid off for him and his team.
 
Iam watching the ottawa and new jersey game right now, its been a good game so far going into the 3rd now... after the vancouver disapointment last night, iam sayin ottawa is the canadian hope as of now. fuck i wish calgary were still kicking so i could go to more games.
 
Fuck the sharks choked last night in the 3rd period. Awful. Only Nabokov was playing well, and he obviously can't do it all himself. Now all the momentum is in Detroit's hands, the series is back in Detroit, and the winner of this next game will probably win the series. Fuck. :/
 
i like both the sharks and the wings, but while drunk, i filled out a playoff pool and chose SJ in 7 games, so as much as i like the wings, if they lose in 7... i wont hate the world. =P
 
Watching Vancouver vs. Anaheim right now....it's going into second overtime, score is 1-1. Canucks are playing horrible, Luongo has 60 saves...
 
Oh. My. God. Luongo stands on his head the whole game and then completely blows it in the second OT. What a way to end a series. Ouch. And I don't know who that was for the Canucks that skated the puck out of the zone with his head completely up his ass, but it was like he forgot everything from hockey 101. Jesus I bet they all feel like shit after that.
 
Iam currently watching the rangers and sabres game and the sabres tied the game up 1-1 with only 7 seconds left in the third!! now thats some good hockey action and excitement fuck i love the playoffs

and i forgot NOT to shave today :(
 
^ that game was REALLY good! BUUUUUUUUT... i cant help but feel terrible for the rangers! they had it locked up and then with 16.7 seconds left... the sabres win the face off and pressure HARD to get the puck and score, THEN win in OT... gotta feel bad for the rangers.

though in the pool im in, i have the sabres winning in 6, so its looking REAL good for me! i have ottawa in 5 also. i had the ducks in 6 so that fucked me a bit, but congrats to the ducks, and i agree with you bromance... that team has GOT to feel bad about how that game ended. luongo collapsed to the ice the moment he realized what had just happened. he was directing traffic rather than watching the puck and while looking the other direction, scotty niedermayer's shot from about 50 feet out went RIGHT in... i dont care much for the canucks and im not by any means a supporter of luongo (he's overrated IMO, though he IS good im not denying that), but still, the way that game ended was ugly. oh yeah AND i have san jose in 7 games so that one still actually is looking decent for me too. with the exception of anaheim winning in 5 instead of 6, im still on pace to get every series in this pool!
 
Hey Ryan! who do you have winning it all?? Just curious cause so far you got all the right people winning it. It better be the Ducks ;) As much as I was happy for the Ducks to beat the Nucks I must say I felt bad for Lu. He played very well. He was the only reason why the Nucks got to that point. I felt bad for him in a way cause that was such a bad goal to give up. But his inexperience in the playoffs cost him. Hopefully he learned and will bounce back next year. The Nucks forwards on the other hand needed to do there part and score a freakin goal. A goalie isnt going to win all the games. Anyways I hope the Sharks/Wings series goes to 7. I wouldnt mind playing a team thats beat up and tired but I'm confident enough to say lets play them now. This playoff year has been one of the best ive seen. (entire NHL) Well go Sharks!!! I want a battle of Cali. And ryan can you tell me what that hockey website is?(the one you are always talking about) Thanks!
 
man, you could see the energy shifting in the rangers-sabres series with that late goal in the 3rd. its like the life was sucked out of the rangers, and I think they're finished now. buffalo has too much momentum to be stopped.

I really want to see red wings-sabres in the finals, but realistically, it will probably be sabres-ducks *pukes in mouth*
 
euphoria - i have buffalo and anaheim playin for the cup, with the slight edge to anaheim. i'd say that series may end up being 6 or 7 games. my gut says 6, but my brain says 7. im goin with my gut and sayin anaheim in 6 against buffalo.

Well it seems that next year a friend of mine who I have grew up playing hockey with will be playing on the Anaheim Ducks next year. He was chosen 26th overall in the NHL Draft. He currently is a power forward for the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL. It amazes me how only several years ago we were playing together on the same team and even played with us recently in december when he had time off from the Q during christmas. Growing up with this guy and going to school with him we all knew he would make it and we're happy for him, his name is Bryce Swan so watch out hes next years NHL rookie of the year.

I dont think theyre so much as "on fire" as much as anaheim blew that one themselves. Too many penalties, stupid ones at that, and you could tell their heads were somewheres outside the game.
 
i didnt get to catch the game, but i was watching the score. the buffalo/sens series however... is coming to be quite a shock. buffalo is down 3-0 in the series. i never doubted that ottawa was good, but wtf is happening to buffalo??? all the talk of drury and briere not BOTH being able to stay next year will hold no weight if they dont uphold their end of the bargain right now anyways.

yeah they lost control of that game after that fluke goal off bertuzzi's leg...... it was all over after that. oh, and that hit on Holmstrom was just brutal. hopefully it will get the team amped up for the next game......
