how about the mid of newsouthwales.. we get the p. cyanescens earlier on in the year..put lately ive found some that look like a croos between Copelandia cyanescens, Psilocybe subcubensis when the stem is snapped it remains clear.they are growing out of cow shit..

any help muchly appreciated. will give it two more days then go picking bring them home and try and i.d

Man, there are no shrooms to be found locally where I live. That sucks. I need to move back to Florida, where they grow wild pretty much everywhere, damn it.

I have a friend that lives in ballarat, i was telling them how i thought they would have great mushroom condition and he said he has never heard of anyone picking them.

Maybe i should go there and find the spots. Do many get into it out that way?
 
This season will be my first venture into the wonderful world of mushrooms, very excited. This rain (vic) we've been getting is promising. First hunt is planned for next friday, will let you all know how it goes.
 
Has been too warm and dry here in Auckland as well. This weekend has been cold and rainy though so keeping my fingers crossed and checking the patches regularly... will post again when they start popping up and the real hunting begins!

I just found some mushrooms ( i live in sydney ) theyre fully brown caps, didn't catch a look at the stems...they were growing over in some bushes. Mulchy.

Now, i wasn't just going to pick it up and eat it...how do i notice a magic mushroom apart from a deadly one? Maybe ill post a pic so you guys can tell me.

Yeah...you guessed, i know nothing about magic mushies but im excited to know that ive found a patch that could possibly be them.

(I hope this isn't against regulations, I'm not actually naming specific areas, just general places that would be more likely to contain mushrooms than others. If moderators feel it's inappropriate, feel free to edit and let me know)

Just A Bloke - My mates get alot of success in areas like Bunninyong (just outside of Ballarat), and Mt Pleasant areas. This is my first year picking, thought it's time to stop just eating and atually collect some food for the village :p. Most of my mushroom buddies are up in Melbourne this year though, so I expect I'll be doing most of my picking up there.

Let me know how you go! :D
 
Went past a couple of spots this arvo, nothing yet. Not even a pinhead... /twiddles thumbs eagerly
 
Just thought i'd let you guys know that theyre back once again. I found these yesterday outer east melbourne. I thought we were still a while off so I was so pumped when I found these.

what do you guys do? just go around collecting mushrooms and then take them home and I.D them? how do you know where to look?

Well went for a drive today came up with only 2 and not gold tops. But I was wondering what they are? any Ideas? well looks like the season has started. Just waitin on the right ones.

You have to dry them first, that changes the chemicals into the good ones ibotenic acid and muscimol, that get you wasted.

I done them and was completely DELERIOUS, i kept walking from my, T.v to the door to the desk and repeat, for over one hour in my bedroom.
Not a profound interesting experience i was just a zombie mess.

Very strange things, I must have had a whooping dose though, and thats the thing, you never know how strong they are.

Vikings took them before battle and it helped them go into full on killing frenzys, if you want to fight someone maybe its worth a look into.

A small dose and some weed I might be tempted to try, just to see the kind of head space they get you in, but not a full on trip.
