Movies and Drugs[MEGA MERGED]

Trainspotting - awesome movie. And yes, in Requiem, Marion does blow multiple times in the movie. Right before she works on her clothing designs and shit.
 
Drugstore Cowboys is decent, the whole movie is about drugs(Pharms and meth) but doesn't show a whole lot of them.
 
when we had coke laying around we use to do a line everytime coke was mention in scarface.. or any time coke came up on screen.. same with blow.. you get high boys... try that shit... but be sure to have atleast an O of powder on you =D
 
Haha I just saw Buffalo Soldiers. That was more about an underground trade (which happened to be the illicit production of heroin) than drug use = or cocaine.

There is some british movie about some young girls, don't recall the name. About some girl trying to be popular and she hooks up with a guy who's total scum.

Basic (only about underground coke trade, no real use)

Boogie Nights and Wonderland seemed the same to me, both really dark and fucking sucked. Terrible movies, BN more so.

Requiem for a Dream can be about any drug. It is only implied what is an upper and what is a downer in each case. The movie was intentionally left vague, as was the book. It could have been dexies, meth, heroin, coke - whoever read the book too, you should know that the plot is much deeper than trying to identify specific drugs.
 
in requiem for a dream, most of the scenes show their pupils being dialated, not constricted. this would point toward meth or even coke, more so than heroin, would it not? also, he tells his mom he knows a lot about uppers. just a thought..
 
The movie did that just to be cool. It is obvious that they got it wrong in the movie about the pupils. Pupils are not mentioned in the book.

Harry tells his mom about uppers because it is obvious she is on them. The book nor the movie give any insight on why he knows alot about uppers.

By the way, the book isn't worth reading. I read it because I thought it would go more in-depth than the movie, it didn't. Every single scene in the book is in the movie.

FYI, the director has admitted in more than one interview that he intentionally never specified what drug was being used.
 
The black dude mentions buying "Skag" early on in the film, so hopefully that clears it up a little - though yes i do think that the girl snorts coke in some scenes
 
paradoxcycle - the director may not have specified any particular substance but in the beggining of the movie, jared leto and marlon wayans are talking about how it is killer "scag". Now scag can only mean one thing, heroin. However it also shows their pupils getting dilated after fixing up soooo its actually quite confusing.
 
cheech and chong's "nice dreams"...it has a really funny coke scene in it with peewee herman being the guy who brings the coke to the restaurant and they all start doin it under the table. really funny movie!!
