Ok so as per my previous rant, my company have sapped my entire budget which inhibits doing my job properly. and now they have taken away ALL MY FUCKING INTERNET ACCESS!!!! HELLO!!!! I work in PR. I NEED internet access. It's my main research resource. I have to email 3 diff people every time I want a site added to my safe list and justify myself. They gave me google but I cant go to any sites FROM google. I'm so fucking angry that I'm looking for a new job.

Did you ask them to help, kk? I know you shouldn't have to but some people are just blind to that sort of thing and may not have realised how rude it was.

leecie: They barred access to hotmail and shit at work but so many people complained we've got it back again and our job doesn't even require internet access. Start the rebellion.

^ That's rude, it's easy to cover your mouth. It's like people who don't cover their mouth when they cough [sick or not!]. That being said I can't think of a time it's happened to me and you guys are bitching about every sick person who goes to work.

I get really annoyed about that as well.

Actually, during winter I'm so paranoid about catching some petty cold or flu, that I assess everyone nearby and pick the seat where I think I'm least likely to catch anything [ie. avoid the people who are coughing and spluttering all over the place]. Then feel really shitty when I realise, that yes, the person I sat next to has a cold also .

The lady on my bus this morning who was the reason for my rant:

a) took up a two-seat on the bus due to her huge fur coat (teamed with a business suit on a warm day?! Go figure) so that annoyed me enough

b) actually sneezed on the person's hair in the seat in front (Ewwww)

c) Wiped her snotty hands all over the bus seats

d) had one of those wracking death-rattle coughs and didnt cover her mouth

e) as she was getting out at her stop, began coughing horribly with no hands over her mouth so every person she walked past was hit with flying saliva

f) left her dirty tissues on her empty seat (s)

SHE MUST DIE!!

i guess we could just run down some facts

a) most people catch public transport NOT by choice, but rather they just can't afford personal transportation. point: money issue
b) most people catch public transport so they can earn enough money at their job to afford personal transportation. Also, due to workplace reforms regarding casual workers, they don't get sick days. point: money issue

see what a vicious cycle that is?
don't get me wrong, there's a great deeeeeal wrong with having sickly people surrounding you in that sardine can/petri dish known as public transport.

but do you know what is a teensy bit worse?

being sick as fuck and having to face down an 8 hour shift because you can't afford to stay at home, as well as having other commuters on the way to work give you the 'how dare you' look, complete with the screwed up face and kung fu grip.

show a little renee (and i would have still punched the lady on the bus whether sick or not, because i'm just batshit loopy)

Ooooh. That made my blood boil just reading that!! You poor thing! I can't *imagine* not having internet access and trying to do our kind of work properly.

Our company is strict on internet access too, but I have a secret weapon - I'm good friends with our IT person. When they first brought in limited access a bunch of sites were banned - including bluelight. I emailed my gal in IT, told her bluelight was necessary for 'research on interactions between prescription medications and complementary medicines', and she put it back on the safe list for me I also don't have to worry about them checking my history log because she erases it all for me. Yay :D

Fuck it, find a new job I say, or start sleeping with the IT guys !

I love my job, but I hate working with this one guy, especially when I'm doing the closing shift with him.

Tonight I was especially pissed off when I had to make sure EVERYTHING was done, including every single bit of fucking cleaning..... whilst he took an hour to cash up the second till (it should have taken him 15 minutes!!). He also has a tendency to start long winded conversations with the customers, and has absolutely no inititive about him. None at all. I also have some pretty bad kidney pain atm, which isn't helped by the freezing cold weather here. So basically he piss farted about while I did absolutely everything. He didn't even do anything when I was crying downstairs because I was in absolute pain.

Surprisingly I'm the only one who hasn't completely lost their temper with him, but I came very close to tonight, and I'm the one there with the short fuse. He's so fucking infuriating to work with it's not funny!!!!! Time to complain to my bosses I think.
