Was there anything specific about this thread you were pointing me to or just more examples of Tregar's general fuckery? I find it very difficult to read most of his giant text walls.
Also you right, I believe he is doing this just for attention/recognition.
I did find it interesting to hear that Tregar's original inspiration for this idea came from Gordon Todd Skinner, a well known liar and DEA informant currently serving life in prison for kidnapping. It's also interesting but unsurprising to see that people have been disputing Tregar's claims for years with the same exact grievanceswe have. Namely that Tregar flat out ignores any criticism and tries to bury any criticism with giant walls of text. His strategy hasn't changed, only now he uses more alts instead of responding with Tregar account.

Just to be clear to everyone, I had nothing personal against Tregar aside from a mild distaste at what I thought was a stupid idea. What got me upset was learning that by repeating this nonsense so much across the internet, he has fooled even Nichols who is probably totally innocent to the webs of deception that Tregar weaves. That's why I spoke to Nichols, basically to warn him that Tregar is a lunatic and Nichols probably shouldn't waste his time/money/precursors. He said he'd already purchased the isovaleramine and other reagents so I was like ok sweet. There's going to be an actual scientist looking into the chemistry, I wasn't going to argue at that point.
I'm not even disputing that the molecules might be active, they could be.
I mainly disputing the claim that the ancient greeks were doing this and asserting that Tregar is a complete and total liar, and that people should look into him before taking his idea too seriously.

I am very tempted to delete this thread just so people stop bitching and fighting on it, but at the same time some really ghetto research done on the shroomery and dmt-nexus has pulled through to interesting results. If BL was trying to be a super academically well founded place, I'd delete this thread, but I think there's a time and place for kitchen chemistry to take a swing at doing something, whether it ends up working or not. The book sale thing sure does bother me though, the most severe I've considered going is editing anything referring to that out of this thread.
Tregar's behavior on the DMT-Nexus is very likely why he would dart around to alt accounts, but he also has such a distinct way of writing which I don't suspect he can change very well, idk as long as nothing happens there like did back on the nexus I don't care too much. And no advertising. I'm also hoping that the beef on this thread dies down because it's becoming a bit tiresome to have to keep an eye on.
Also, the amount of new accounts that only post on this thread is a highly suspicious thing, and I do think someone's using alts on this account. I'm still kind of contested about fully deleting it though, locking it may not be the best permanent answer.

As a reader of clandestine chemistry, surely you've stumbled on the Memoirs of Eluesis? The MDMA chemist from Florida whose real name is Jeffrey Jenkins.
Eluesis was posting under alt accounts in a somewhat similar manner using an alt by ZWITTERION and Yogi Shan where he would criticize or fight with Eleusis or try his methods. Here's a snippet from it and the article. Which is a CLASSIC for anyone interested in clandestine chemistry.
"After 2 weeks, I was convinced that it had been confiscated, and likely sent to either the DEA,the DOT or the BATF, so I used the ruse of Yogi's incessant criticism of "eleusis" bad chemistry" to bid myfarewell to a.d.c., as it was clearly time for me to quit the game.
This, of course, meant that ZWITTERION had to leave too, since even if he and I weren't the same person (and we were), he wouldn't have anyone to pick on anymore (didn't you notice that ZWITTERION only seemed to try outthe things that eleusis posted?). As a side note, if you find it hard to swallow that ZWIT and eleusis were the same individual because of the wild difference in writing styles, keep in mind that I *am* an English major."
So just know it IS possible and there is historic precedent where people have done the exact same things, and ironically, the author was also interested in the mysteries and Kykeon.
I have read that, but I was unaware of the use of alt accounts in that context. Skorpio noting the amount of greenlighters who only post here is what really got me convinced that something like that is going on here. @JackARoe I'm figuring out a writeup to sticky surrounding AI use in the PD forum, do you think that the risk of having alt-account misinformation propagated in this specific thread is worth us leaving it locked? I can't find any other thread that seems to have this issue right now, but if you think the ratio of potential nonsense and bickering versus legitimately useful exploratory information is worth keeping up, then let's keep it up for now.

Ah ok, that changes things somewhat. Good to know. I snuck this open for that and hoping it could get back on track and get more info. Didn't want to leave Nichols hanging.
I had hopes that the ghetto research that turned up anything would be interesting but I see the thread keeps getting derailed. I remember liking the LSH info when it came out. But also the ratio of research to nonsense keep throwing it out of whack. I think I was hoping something interesting would come of this and it has. But it keeps going off the rails. Maybe a permanent lock if it doesn't fall in line with true research? I totally defer to you @Esperighanto. Feel free make any decision needed.
At some point I suspect either of us will get very fed up and lock. I totally trust your judgment. Also thanks for thinking on the AI. It becomes difficult because someone can feed AI some docs and have it sort and filter someone's original thoughts, then again it may just be a machines thoughts. Some way to discern would be good, like someone saying I wrote up a trip report and only had AI sort it for me and not create it. I think getting out ahead of AI is important. I see AI format and immediately lose interest.

I'm going to go ahead and lock it right now, and I encourage anybody who does come upon LSA-oriented research they've done personally (or really any at all) to make a separate thread for it. This one's got a vibe that keeps pulling ruckus towards it, and I'm just going to leave it locked for now.
As far as the AI stuff goes, my current thoughts (the ones I'm synthesizing into the write-up) are that if you're going to post generative AI output, you should declare that it's that, and then throw it in a spoiler so that somebody has to intentionally choose to open it, and otherwise they can browse on by just viewing the human generated content. If somebody's just using AI to revise things and not really generate text for them (think Grammarly) I'm not too concerned, since the majority of that text would still be human generated. I'll DM you the writeup before I post it to get your thumbs up on it.
