Criminal use of a communication device... WTF? I assume this charge stems from the fact that the guy used the internet for his recipe and to order chemicals. While I'm used to civil liberties being trampled in the name of the "war on drugs," this is getting eerily close to thought-crime à la George Orwell's 1984. The powers that be never seem to tire of coming up with new crimes to imprison people with.Clouser was taken into custody without incident and charged with criminal attempt to manufacture fentanyl and criminal use of a communication device.
Police bust a dangerous drug lab in Dauphin County, closing down the operation and arresting the man running it.
A few weeks ago, Millersburg Police called Dauphin County and DEA investigators about a possible fentanyl lab at the 100 block of Hillside Heights in Millersburg.
Intent is the same as the action itself,
Depends what you mean by "succeeded". If he was going to run a proper, safe lab at home and only self-administer his product, then this is NOT a good thing. If he was gonna distribute it, it's a good thing. If he was gonna blow himself up, and not hurt others, well.... seems to come down to whether it's better to see someone kill themselves with stupidity, or to see the DEA stop themselves from doing so ;PThis is a good thing. Sounds like this guy would have either killed himself or many others if he succeeded.
