I thought as much.
What are people supposed to do if they've been signed off by a doctor, but can't claim ESA?
Anyway, I just stumbled across this place. http://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/
Looks to have much needed info.![]()
What does it cost?
A subscription to Benefits and Work costs just £19.45 for a full year.
"The best money I have ever spent!" Justissimo.
Need some advice:
I live in england, i am due to sign on today, but i haven't been doing anything nor filled out my book or anything.
Ive not been diagnosed with anything other than Chronic Bacterial Prostatitits, but this seems like a wrong diagnosis now, and i am showing many symptoms of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstitial_cystitis
The reason why i haven't is because i am suffering from a pelvic pain, as well as other problems (painful urination, cant urinate, weight fluctuating as much as 7 pounds in just 2 days, goes down a lot when i finally pee, feeling very lethargic/sick) Having trouble leaving the house as lots of walking seems to make the pain more intense and it feels like im walking around with lots of retained fluid
Im on Ciprofloxacin , and been given co-codamol 30/500mg for the pain , but ive not been signed off by my GP (Just registered somewhere new)
Can i please have some advice on what to do or say ? I need to be signed off on the sick really, this is an ongoing problem that is progressively getting worse and worse and worse, and i am due to visit urology for consultation and for an ultrasound soon.
Also what do i do if my Gp wont declare me unfit for work? my symptoms go from feeling okayish to then feeling like im quite literally dying lol
Lastly,
I haven't 'got on it' since May, nor have i hit a rave since March
^ Sure, but its the travelling to my jobcenter.
Whatever is wrong with me its getting progressively worse each week, signing on for me wasnt a problem 2 weeks ago but a hospital visit later, and it is trust me. Ive told me friends they wont be seeing me atm either because too much walking seems to cause more discomfort/pain
I wouldn't waste time phoning them.
Even if you get through, any information they give you is likely to be wrong.
Have you claimed ESA within the last 6 months?
Damn fucking right - You get put on hold to a number that will charge you unless it's a BT phoneline (which many people don't have and have to resort to a pay-as-you-go mobile like I did). I wasted over a tenner in credit on hold!
I've sent them the "unfit to work" note from my doc, and I want to call them to see if they've recieved it and it's in their databank.
BUT last time I called, I eventually spoke to a human on the switchboard, got transfered to my local JSP who said they didn't deal with the medical side of things and to ring a number they gave me....
What did I hear?
"Welcome to Knobcentre Plus..." - The same fucking switchboard!
The left hand doesn't know what the right hand, left foot or right foot are doing... Tis a totally flawed system that they're making up as they go along![]()
I am on Virgin! If you're on pay as you go, get a Virgin mobile sim card. They don't charge you for calls made to the job centres 0845 numbers.
The Vivaldi fucking 4 Seasons!!!!!!Arrrrgh Noodle. Bunch of wankers ay? A friend of mine was calling some Gov agency the other day at my house for about half hour. Half hour of the 4 seasons. 8( interrupted at minute intervals with 'You are being held in a queue etc etc..' She had spent the morning enduring the Four Seasoning torture and then when she finally got through they asked for some really random information that she would need to call several agencies to get. She marched up to the job center in the end ( I think it was for a crisis loan) baying for blood.
