I've tried them more than 5 times and HAVE gotten addicted....not PHYSICALLY addicted now but sure am MENTALLY, i HAVE to use AT LEAST 2 day out of the week. :(

Every 6 months or so id buy an oxy 80 or four off the street and that would last me a week or more.

Now if I was using I would shoot 160mg(IV) 2x a day, maybe a few shots of meth or ritalin or sometimes morphine is too much of a fuckaround to get all the shit out and get a shot that will it in one syringe.

I got very addicted at one stage. If shoot speedballs(not the real ones guys) ritalin+Oxy shots plus a million shots of oxy a day and about 4-6mg of xanax most days. I was a wreck but now min like a week and a half clean from opiates and Iplan to keep it that way... I missed out on so much coz I was always smacked out or frying on meth and being crazy. I know want to stop because I need to relearn the skills that ive missed in school and regular life. I used to be so fucking smart but drugs just ruin my head but I definitely think I will be able to get back wahat I had before. so many people im an extremely intelligent person, I dont see it unless im off the opes, speed/meth and the needles which im finding easy this round.

That would be a big fuck yea to #3 .. and im still on an every day crusade. Any opiate will do at this point but i love dilaudid, H, Opana ir, and morphine tha most! Happiness is going to bed high as fuck and having dope for the next day/week/whatever!

was introduced to heroin at 15, developed a habit quickly. then bad things (ODs, friends dying, etc) started happening and I got out of nyc long enough to get clean. moved to south florida in '82, coke was everywhere, didn't like it, but got a connection with snap top amps of morphine and dilaudid. I abused the hell out of them but wasn't -physically- addicted. definitely have had a long term psychological addiction. just typing this stirs up terrible want and hunger...

anyway,
got sick with rheumatoid arthritis about 15 yrs ago, joints/bones are fk'd bad now and i've been on
methadone for 4 yrs now. never could have imagined things would have turned out like this.

Started takinh Heroin(white) in India when i was 18. At first was just sniffing it occassionally but still predominantly into psychadelics. More frequent use over next 5 years and began smoking as well as sniffing. Eventually, coinciding with when i managed to kick a 5+year serious ketamine addiction, i was taking it every day all the time. Then 1 day when there was a small drought and quality was down i decided to fix. Not looked back since, IVing 4-5 hits, maybe 1- 1.5 grams a day every day. If i go 1 daqy without i will start having really bad hot/cold sweats, retching, aching all over. After a couple of days I wont be able to move ,unless its to score. I went to rehab once didnt make 2 weeks and was injectingt the day I left. Fukt up on a familly holiday in Turkey and ended up in a local hospital for over 2 weeks withdrawing with two drips in my arms. It has taken away everything which i hold dear but i still have to do it! Its a crazy world we live in!!

Yes, no.

I have used many opiates, sometimes for a few days in a row.

I have never been addicted to them though. For whatever reason, my body just doesn't function on a daily dose of opiates. I get lethargic and eventually just fall asleep.

I love them to get high on occasionally, but at this point I really don't think I can get addicted to opiates.

That's the total opposite to me with regard to functioning. I used to be a drinker but not a functional one like some alcoholics but when on codeine and dihydrocodeine/tramadol etc I find it easy to function- in fact better. This is how; many, functioning alcoholics feel I suppose. It's mad how different people react.

Yes, I have used opiates/opioids.

Yes, I have been addicted quite a few times.

My habit began with hydrocodone and codeine on occasion when i was fourteen, and then became everyday with hydrocodone in high doses at fifteen. tried oxycontin for my first time at fifteen, and absolutely fell in love. i began using everyday, which escalated to a habit of at least 160mg oxycodone a day. i moved, and couldn't get OC anymore. i then began using morphine heavily, along with hydrocodone again. this went on until i was seventeen and went to reform school/rehab for nine months. i used four days after getting out, and kept it occasional. i moved, and started using hydrocodone daily again at 18, and this went on for roughly seven months until i moved again and could get OC's and morphine again, and the occasional suboxone. i then turned 19, and i started using OC and morphine daily, AGAIN, and finally decided i was done this May and moved to SoCal. i've only been using on occasion since i moved, as i don't desire it as much after staying mostly away for a little over seven months. although, i did just try heroin for the first time tonight, and i do have to say it is amazing, but i don't believe i will be getting anymore for a good amount of time. i only snorted half of a $10, and have the other for tomorrow.

Opiates have made my life wonderful, and they have made my life absolute hell. They have a very special place in my heart.

I have Degenerative Disc Disease and have been going to the bone doctor since 2004. I have been on Lortab 10s since then and I have not gotten addicited. I get them every month and take them only when I need to. I also now have Carpel Tunnel Disease. I've worked in a doctor's office, besides being married to one, and I have seen first hand what happens to chronic pain patients but it doesn't have to happen. I didn't allow it to happen to me. I refuse to spend my life being a SLAVE to pills or whatever. If you do that, you may as well not have a life, because the opiates or whatever the addiction, will take over. It certainly makes it hard on doctors who have to prescribe pain medicines to people because then people want to turn around and blame the doctor for making them into an addicit, saying that if the doctor had never givien it to them, they'd have never wanted it. No, the doctor could've just them be in pain. As it is now, many people who have legitimate pain are getting undertreated for it because of all the drug abuse going on. I keep my prescriptions for Lortabs, Adderall, and Klonipins locked up and don't tell anyone that I have them. Since I need surgery for my problems and can't get it right now, I will be on long-term treatment. For this reason, I keep my tolerance down so that I won't have to go on anything stronger for a good while, if at all.

What changed you, any life style changes? sounds like me, so I'd love to hear your story if theres any advice I can take from it.

I was getting to the point where small things would enrage me and send my temper flying. I went and got a few books, namely the 3 Magic Words, Science Of Mind and the Power Of Now.....

Essentially, I learned how to slow down the anger process and change it into a different kind of energy. Once ya feel it starting, you have to stop it immediately and force a new way of thinking into your head.

Lately, I've been getting into some really depressive moods, and this is the most sober I've ever been in my life....so I'm forcing myself back into that mental re-training again.

Opiates are not "addictive" in my opinion, certain individuals have a predisposition to addiction.

I am basically the model of problematic addictive guy. I have been using for 6 years, needles for 5. My DOC is dilaudid which has been prescribed to me for a year for pain, and now again for chronic HORRIBLE pain in my knees and back. will be on this drug for life most likely.

I abuse morphine and heroin when i have no dilaudid. I will always be addicted because when i get clean, i get depressed, then i drink, then go right back to using.

i am now attempting to start a new life with psychiatric treatment, anti-depressants, NA(yuck, but its all i can afford) and having my...parents... hold my diilaudid and dispense it at the directions given.

its REALLY HARD. It fucking sucks. but i got myself into this, and have a possesion charge hanging over my head now. i hate being addicted. i dont hate the drugs, they make it better. but i hate the craving and the fact they are the only thing thats worked for my depression.

"Opiates are not "addictive" in my opinion, certain individuals have a predisposition to addiction."

took the words out of my mouth, I mean I believe this is true of the psychological aspect. Physical addiction is a whole different realm. I said that I have gotten addicted, however I am not physically dependent on them (but I think I'll be there soon :(). I have willpower to stop and I have the support system of good friends and family to fall back on, but I choose not to because I love them! Hello psychological addiction? It's hard to say, but that's how everybody's physical addiction develops. Everything in moderation I guess... I would never want to get so deep into it that I can't even treat myself once a year.

^better check where you're at if you don't think opiates are addictive, bro. physically addicticing ring a bell for starters...

directed to both fuckhed14 (lol that makes me feel like im calling you a fuckhead) and fussmushie

well if you actually read my post I wasn't flat out saying that they aren't addictive. You must be one of those extreme leftwingers that are just as bad as the extreme rightwingers eh? (and hey I'm not trying to be an ass, you are probably a good guy and I appreciate your concern)

I don't even want to bother repeating myself but I will. I AM ADDICTED!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have the chance to stop however, but I choose not to (which shows a psychological addiction).

The point is that PSYCHOLOGICAL ADDICTION is not hard to overcome if you are a strong person. Is it a coincidence that many addicts are weak and have to attend meetings to stay clean? I am not bashing on these people I think I might be one of them.

"Lord knows I am weak, oh won't somebody get me off of this reef?"

prescribed norco 10/325 for shingles pain, began taking 1-2 a day, which led to 3-4 and eventually 8 a day. was introduced to OC about a year later and looked back. I use about 40 mg a day now. the only thing i really miss is having food in my fridge, but with good opiates it is easy to rationalize anorexia.

also, i am convinced such drugs help with me creative writing... which sounds like a complete cop out

^and again i misread what youd said, dude.

lol im a leftwinger because of one simple statement? nice clouded judgement.

just to clear your mind no im not a radical leftwinger, my username has no association to politics whatsoever. it derived from shooting up into my left arm "wing" the majority of times.

now that i've explained myself, continue thread

^IMO those comments are kinda naive; I agree thAt some drugs are not physically addictive, just psychologically, specifically cocaine, but not opiates.

But on topic, I wrote a long ass thread, but it got deleted...fuckkk!!!

I am addicted; I began using opiates, as prescribed, after a horrible car accident in which I suffered a spinal injury/broken back. While my pain now isn't horrible, my desired for opiates is overwhelming and consumes the "essence of my being."

Afterimg breaking up with my longtime gf, at the advice of my druggy roommate, I began snorting my oc40s regularly. Did this for ~1yrs, then went to ~20-25 10/325 norcos.

Now, fast forward 2-3 years, I'm smoking 10-12.5mg of fentanyl a day. This habit consumes everything I do; it represents everything I am. It's sad really, I am an addict. Unfortunately, I know I will die am addict; I think I will die at the hand of the very substance I love. This "fatal attraction" will undoubtably kill me. My only goal is to live to 25, but I doubt that will happen. Shit, I mean I used to come on bluelight dAily; yet, I haven't been on for months because of my horrible addiction.

:(
