    Welcome Guest!

Comedowns, Serotonin Syndrome and MDMA abuse (plus problems after use)

I also take vitamin c everyday, and have tried drinking plenty of juices, pain killers, vitamins etc the next day

You will be ok
It needs time 4-8 months, this anxiety will pass and you will be normal again
Don't get anxius you make it worse

Thank you I really appreciate the response yeah I definitely should have known what I was taking before and eye balling it is always a mistake.

It's hard to keep optimistic but after reading some posts of people who went through the same thing I have and your response I feel very hopeful that I will fully recover and I have learned from this experience and have learned to respect the power of hard drugs. I will post again in a few months and share my progress

Maybe this drug isn't for you if you're having bad reactions afterwards every time. I would get a test kit to be sure what it is you're getting.

Feeling really sleepy every time I roll. What am I doing wrong?

A little background:I've been raving and doing MDMA since September 2014 and have tried about 6 different hard-pressed pills (Gold bar, Orange Tesla, Yellow Snapchat, Green Heineken, Purple Battery, Yellow Instagram) and have rolled on about ~10 different occasions. The longest break between rolling was 6 months, the next longest was 4 months.

Every single one of these times I just get really tired and sleepy. You know the feeling when you wake up early in the morning and staying in bed for another 5 minutes and closing your eyes just feels so damn good? That's what it feels like. After I start coming down and my roll goes away, I feel awake and un-tired and that's when I know I have sobered up. I feel like I've never had that amazing roll everyone gets. Massages feel good when I'm rolling but they feel good when I'm not rolling too so I feel like it should be amazing when I do get one when I'm rolling. I don't get hyper, I don't have a lot of energy to dance, I just sorta stand there and try to enjoy the visuals and musical. The one effect I do get that everyone has is the feeling of not giving a fuck and the feeling of confidence, which is nice.

I've tried doing different things before I roll to try to figure what I'm doing wrong. One time I tried taking supplements, still sleepy. Another time I tried adjusting my sleep schedule because I thought I just wasn't used to staying up late, no dice. I've stopped drinking alcohol before-hand, no yet again.

Does/has this happen to anybody else? How do you cope? I'm also open to any suggestions.

People aren't usually taking pure MDMA. The "rushy high energy lovey powerful" euphoria usually happens only on the first rolls or when you mix in other stimulants.

You're probably getting pure MDMA though (yay!). People aren't usually aware how sluggish and exhausted real e makes you; pure tablets were even thought to of been mixed with heroin back in the day.

Stop taking MDMA. The comedowns almost Never get better, only worse. This isn't nearly as bad as whats to come if you keep frying your already damaged receptors.

Time will heal everything but after each roll this time can get exponentially longer

Good post...I abused MDMA/MDA/etc for 10 years and I've been clean from it for 13 months...the comedowns would last a full month for me...

I agree with Cyberius. also, those are some pretty high dosed pills your taking 200+mg. I know with high doses with me leave me somewhat munted and couch locked. Maybe try some smaller doses?

I don't think it would be harmful to try. I have read and heard good and indifferent things about 5htp. I personally have never used it. I like my body to naturally recover (with help on my part, eating right, excersise, sleep, ect ). Sane with like acetaminophen. I don't take it because I don't really need to take it. That's all personal preference though.

I brought some 5 htp yesterday and will try it out the next time I roll, I also forgot to mention this also happens with speed, ive also been taking ghb frequently for the last year and a bit but suffer no come downs or after effects, there's nothing I love more than e but I cant deal with the next day, I'll have to buy a second bottle of juice for the day after just so I can sleep and deal with the come down

No hopefully about it stick to the tried and tested ways to recover and you will be fine.Your not the first and Lord knows you wont be the last.Best of luck

I'm coming off 3 years of heavy empathogen abuse, my last roll took my sanity last month. MDMA is something that people need to take seriously

Comedowns, Serotonin Syndrome and MDMA abuse

Hello all, first post here!
First I want to apologise in case there's already a thread on this because I've looked and I am finding nothing concrete which is answering my question and because the 'prefix' thing confused me greatly.

So I'll begin by saying I pretty much abuse MDMA.
I'll drop two doses of .25 (.5) once every one or two weeks (It is excellent quality and very pure) when I hit the club and I'll love it each time, I have been doing so for the past... 7 months now?
My friends who drop with me talk about their comedowns and how much it 'ruins' them and how they're not 'normal' for almost a week afterwards and it means nothing to me because I've never experienced what they're talking about. They tell me it makes them sad about silly things and pretty emotional, however, they say this happens about 2 days after and not straight away.
Sure I ache the next day (Backstory: I'm a professional dancer and I kinda kill it on the dancefloor), my body feels a bit tingly and I don't have a huge appetite for the day (saying that I'll still eat half a pizza). The day after I'm 100% fine and back to my normal self, ready for the rest of the week and excited for my next club visit. It's because of this I have no issue doing MDMA on such a regular basis, despite the once a month rule.
I never got hangovers either if that's relevant? Unsure if it's anything to do with an individuals ability to deal with toxins.

I was perusing your beautiful, beautiful website when I came upon a post called 'Long Term MDMA recovery' which lead me to the sticky on 'Serotonin Syndrome'
I've searched the site, I've searched the google and have come up with answers but they made very little sense to me.
So my question is this:
What is Serotonin Syndrome and is my continued abuse of MDMA likely to cause Serotonin Syndrome?

Can't wait to hear from you all

I forgot to mention that I only take 1/2 or 1/3. Never the whole pill. In my group of friends, we all take the same thing every time but I'm the only one that gets sleepy.

I'm not sure if I'm getting pure MDMA but my group of friends take the same press and while taking the entire pill (I only take 1/2 at a time) and are super energetic.

Hey buddy, welcome to Bluelight!

First and foremost, as you've probably begun to realise and will be told by others time over - your usage is obscene to say the least. The fact you've somehow not be burned at all is somewhat of a miracle, let alone severely. Anyway...serotonin syndrome is an acute condition (as opposed to chronic) whereby it develops rapidly and severely in most cases. It's not something you develop over time, but something relatively immediate as a result of drugs or particular combination of drugs. My understanding is that for you to manage serotonin syndrome from MDMA alone, you'd need to ingest a ludicrous amount in a very short time. The more likely cause of serotonin syndrome will be combining MDMA with something like an MAOI (Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitor - something that inhibits the action of the monoamine oxidase enzyme which is responsible for metabolising a great many molecules inclusive of serotonin. The combination will cause a release of serotonin, but inhibit the metabolic process that would normally remove the excessive serotonin, causing rapid build up to dangerous levels.

I believe you can also cause serotonin syndrome from combining a serotonin releaser like MDMA with an SSRI (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor), presuming you've not been on the SSRI for some time. I'm not really sure about this scenario, so don't take my word ;) really, don't take my word on anything, but instead make your own informed conclusions on risks and preferably err on the side of caution - your life isn't worth the gamble of uncertainty.

So besides that, you REALLY need to cut back on your usage before the side effects your mates talk about catch up to you in a bad way, and they will. Trust me, as much as some would like to insist or believe they're different, you're not and we're ultimately just rolling a a dice with a different number of sides. Statistics insist your number will come up.

Someone else will chime in with some more info, likely berating you for your abuse of MDMA, but alas I must continue my mission to get the hell out of work and go home. Our advice may come across a bit harsh, but really it's harsh love. Nobody here likes to see another happy roller burn themselves out :)
