The drug black market never stops, there is always going to be someone else to take his place. The German and British girls that just got caught trying to smuggle $1 million worth of drugs into Australia for example.

What a barbaric way to die.
R.I.P.

i was just coming in here to say the same thing, but not in the exact same words:

see the thing that gets me in this case is that van's just a pawn. there are millions of other desperatos the world over that would be willing to take his place given the opportunity. not to mention that poor van ends up suffering for something that he is least responsible for in the bigger scheme of things (which always tends to be the way in our world).

anyway, rip dude :(

Dude, you don't know if any of this is true, most of it is just media BS. For all we know, they've taken down a drug kingpin, thing is we'll never know, cos dead men tell no tales, and men fighting for their lives a like as not going to tell you any story to validate their actions and gain some kind of public sympathy...

come off it. van was not a drug kingpin that they just managed to take down. he was a poor guy that managed to get himself mixed up in shit that he probably shouldn't have for his own personal reasons, and that's why i likened him more to the other MILLIONS of desperatos out there in the world who have surrcomed to the same temptations.

van was definatly not a drug king pin.if he was such a king pin do you think it would have been him carrying the smack?
he was just a naive young guy who in desparation to save his twin brothers life made an extremely bad decision that ended with him being executed.
it seems a lot of people dont know the real story about his decision to do this.just whatever they read in the newspapers.

rip van

fair play, I'll reword it, he wasn't just the innocent little victim he, and everyone else claims he is.

And I wish everyone would stop making him out ot be some fucking hero, this minutes silence business is bullshit, we give the diggers who fought for the country a mimutes silence and to put this little fucking upstart in the same catagory as a someone who went to fight another persons war is fucken blasphemy, fuck it, I'm glad he's dead, now everyone can go back to not giving a fuck about singapore and their harsh laws and focus on pretending to care about the nest flash in the pan issue.

We give a minutes silence to a large number of things.

i couldnt of said it better myself mate

*applauds*

What i want to know is why did he not deserve to get hung?

did they find 400gm of Heroin on him? Yes
did he break the law of the country he was in? Yes

why shouldnt he face the consequences for his actions?

If you haven't gotten it yet you won't now.

Rot from the inside out in your obsequiousness to empathic infortitude.

a minute of silence is just an analogy to take a moment to think and care about people in this world who have died for unjust reasons, and thus raise peoples levels of awareness and desire for change in the future. if you don't think the reason van died was unjust, don't think or care about it. personally i do think that the reason for his execution was unjust which is why i thought about him last night, and again today. but at the same time i don't need no minute of silence to make me do that. some people on the other hand do need formality to make things more meaningful to them i guess.

I think this is the one time i have actually agreed with you KB

just like you "when in rome" comment...

This is how he should of got off... SAID HE WAS AN ADDICT

it worked for Michelle Leslie!

because he's australian! everyone knows other countries laws dont apply to us :p

Way to make the conversation even dumber. If that's possible. ;)

Oh shit Kindergarten is out already today?

I forgot to pick up my little sister.

Did you ask mummy's permission to touch the keyboard?

So he's dead now? Good, fuck him. He knew the risks, and if he didn't he should've been hung anyway. Don't give me any of this bullshit that he wanted to clear his brothers debts. There are other ways he could have done it.

Boo hoo...another fallen hero.....NOT!! I suggest that we remember St Van every 02-12 and have a national day of mourning.....for our press who will have nothing to lead with after this.

Pathetic.

I wonder if it's possible to somehow stuff that 400g's into his corpse on the sly before it flys back to Australia. Hmmmm..
