I also liked the amorphous red/pink shapes in the background. It gave the clip a nice organic quality, while at the same time evoking a sense of danger, or violence, or maybe passion, but with that fluid, calming feeling too. It was a cool combination of sensations, like an unexpected combination that paradoxically blends well.

keep em comin, i think you could work this one into a longer video at some point too.:)

i guess you aren't familiar with twin peaks then. Basically, i'm doing cooper's dream where the actors talk backwards, and then the film is played backwards. what i say in mine is in english. listen carefully and see if you can understand it.
 
aight, what i say in that last one is "let's see if i can do that weird backwards talking from twin peaks".

btw l2r what music program do you use ?
cuz you seem to be knowledgeable on that since your doing remix and song and stuff
but thought it was pretty strange that you are new to "bakwarding"
^ that and time-stretch have being some of my first fun stuff to experiment with when i fist started with fruity loops (music software) :)

and sorry for not commenting on video
i dont force things
if i feel inspire ill write stuff (just like in the pic thread i dont post comment on every pic...)
but i sure do appreciate the video :)

Ok first of all sorry for the small size. I am still learning. =)
I am not terribly happy with this but I put some time into it so here it is.
I am really bothered by some pacing issues, especially in the beginning.
I learned a lot though and hopefully I will put out something better soon.

i'm quite a bit out of practice and the tutorials i did never pointed out the reverse button before. i got help from seuss for that.
 
ok, i actually made this a little while ago but i'm still interested in feedback:

the story

i feel the pacing is a little off - i'm a very fast reader and i fear the story scrolls a little too fast. plus, i wanted it sync'ed to the first half of the track - before the breakdown - so i may have shoehorned it in a little.

i guess, if anything, it's a contrast of a story told with words and a story told with pictures.

my mind is now racing with ideas for new, more moving, short clips - i just have to make one :)

Nice cuts ali! excellent music selection (the brothers played that superb track IN FULL during their solo show the other week).

yeah the text goes too fast. it isn't helped by the quicktime player from your link restricts the size of the screen.
your words could have been a little more concise.

great story though. and fantastic pics!

you could always just paste the link into another player (media player or what have you).

i'm two thirds done on my latest vid. this one contains too many cuts to count (like seriously, fucking heaps). i'm working on my editing skills.

it features me dancing :D

Of course you won't be there next year.. This greatly disappoints me on many levels. I am going to burning man for the first time, and I know these glasses you speak of. I have owned many pairs of them, and they are truly amazing for experiences such as this.

Well, despite being let down, I loved the story. (although I did have to pause it several times to read it)

Slow down the text a little would be my recommendation. also, please leave the pictures up just a half second longer each... People like eye candy such as those pictures.

I loved it though. Made me smile inside.
 
thank you. when you say 'next year' do you mean you are going to burning man this coming august or august '09?

the fact that magicglasses camp will no longer be there should not stop you from having a wonderful, life-changing experience :)
