anyway, tips on ironing shirts?
my usual method is to run that iron over the big bits that you can see and ignore the difficult parts (like most of the sleeve, the sides etc...

Get a decent iron, a shit one will make the job a lot harder. Iron in order > Collar, cuffs, shoulders, sleeves, front, back.

You just need to practice really, I can iron a shirt to a reasonable standard but rarely wear shirts so don't really try and improve my technique. Or if i'm at my parents house, get my mum to do it :D

Get a decent steam iron, use deionized water in it for best results and use starch on collars -hang your shirts to dry on hangers straight out of washing machine with button fully done up too, so less ironing!
As I have already told Kate I am currently on a Mr Sheen polish taper..am down to about 3 cans a week Mr Sheen has a rival in the form of 'two in one Best shine plus' polish...it smells so nice, everything extra shiny..it comes in a pink can with a lid that makes it look a bit like a dildo...

My father used to diligently starch his collars, and every shirt was miltary-style box creased. Right up until his sixties.

It's bleach for me - awful stuff I know, but I'm not happy until everything is bleached to within an inch of its life and smelling chlorinated.

Ok my domestic darlings. I am only a beginner in the domestic goddess stakes so I need some advice. I have a bright pink, fluffy sheepskin rug. Hoovering it wrecks the fluffiness slightly, shaking it out does not remove all of the dirt so. Cleaning tips?!

I just love umm polishing things...Mr Sheen and a duster are kind of like the equivalent of anti-anxiety/comfort blanket stand ins..

I also have a rather over zealous relationship with bleach I am told..but it's Sheen and spray bath mouse that are my real problem...

Summer...shake a little bicarb of soda and leave every now and again and leave for half a hour to neutralise odours..I would suggest brushing it..do you have a tangle teaser?

It also love "star drops" - I'm and old skool kinda gal It shines everything AND cleans! Have you tried it? I cant get on with the mouses, they lack vigorous rubbing for me. Nothing quite like getting in there with a scrubbing brush 8) Mxe makes me clean ocd, terrible waste of wastedness lol

I agree on the bicarb of soda for the sheepskin. At a push dry shampoo and a good brush will have it smelling more fragrant and less greasy.

It has no smells but has a few crumbs and stuff trapped in it's fur. I will have a go at the brushing, don't know why I didn't think of that myself. I have much to learn from you two I think
