Benzo Discussion

Been taking them 2-4 times a week for about 5 or 6 years. No huge problem when they run out, and 20mg is still more than enough to sort any panic out. Same dose I've been on since near the beginning. Tolerance hasn't really moved.

I'm just curious, do you never take breaks longer than a few days?.

My body tells me when I need a break, and if I miss it, things tend to go tits up.

I have done, when I've run out. I never feel like I need a break, to be honest. Nothing has gone tits-up so far.

But again, just out of curiosity, how long is the break when you 'run out'?. I only ask cuz I've seen you post this before and have always wondered. It may well be a shock to your system if you were to give it a few months rest for instance.

I find with diaz, I need at least a 3 week break before I can return to some sort of normality.

Er, I can remember one time when I was going through phenibut withdrawal (fucking evil), I had actually run out of benzos a few weeks earlier. So, I was going through what was possibly a withdrawal of both (different receptors, though, but still GABA). Once the phenibut withdrawal stopped, I was fine. All I really got from lack of benzos was rebound anxiety and a little bit of insomnia. Really not a big deal. The kind of doses I'm on really aren't enough to give me any real withdrawal. YMMV, of course. I stopped a chronic alcohol habit cold turkey, and suffered no withdrawals, either. So maybe I'm just lucky with GABA-a drugs.

Next day gouch

Aye... Val's for the win. I love the long half life. I'd call it an after glow rather than feeling groggy:) Only tried Xanax twice and didn't really like it.

Several times I have taken just 10mg of Diazepam at night time to help me get some sleep as I am a shift worker. The problem I have is that the next day I will feel so tired and have trouble keeping my eyes open, double vision etc and generally feel like I am on a heroin gouch which is not a good look at work.
Is there a way I can avoid these next day problems by either lowering the dose or taking it earlier the previous evening, or would taking a 5mg the following morning help or would that make things worse during the day for me?
Hope this makes sense and that someone has some useful advice for me. Thanks in advance.

Aye. I've been given chlorpromazine which was so bad it got chucked, despite my love of all things sedative.

They don't call anti-psychotics a 'chemical cosh' for nothing.

I was on this stuff last year, its more of an anti anxiety deal, couldnt be doing with it either and stopped taking it after a bit so i could function again:|

I've seen people on the liquid, 100's of mg's a day and they look and shuffle like the walkin dead..not a great look at all.

I've still got a shit load in the cupboard, must be the only chemicals that I can easily leave alone;)

Temazepam is a short acting benzo for sleeping. No groggyness on the next day, it's got a shorter half life, If you are getting these Diaz. from the Doc ask 4 them instead ,explaining the problem.
if you aren't scripted then u will get a tolerance soon anyway so the hangover will not be as bad .

Thanks for yr help. I am not getting the pills on a script. As my shifts are 4 days on then 4 off what I may do is just use the pills on my days off if I feel the need to try and help the crap gear feel a bit better.
Once again thanks. So glad I found Bluelight as the amount of new knowledge I have is great. I love reading info from medical professionals and also folks first hand experiences, which all makes for great reading and a great learning tool and of course plenty of laughs to be found here. Best community of its kind I have found so far.

Hello people, I have been taking blues for the last three days at 40mgs a day, today I've had none but I still feel a bit slowed down, is this normal? Forgive me is this question sounds niave but I don't have much experience with benzos, thanks

That's pretty normal. Diazepam stays in your system for ages. That feeling of being slowed down should fade by tomorrow though. Unless your blues had phenazepam in them, but that's another story.

Ok thanks, it's quite a nice feeling anyway, they were the generics so I should hope there is nothing else in them, thank you for your help mr mod! =D

There are Blues and then there are uk Prescrition Diazepam 10mg . also not all 10mgs are blue Kern are really tiny white pills as are Ratiopharm. These are generally found in Spain n Portugal and always come in strips.

They're street blues, so you never quite know what you're getting.

Other than that - diazepam is diazepam, so I've moved this on to the benzo thread. Hope you don't mind, but we're not really here to review street blues after all.
