Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ and Megathread v.1; 2007 - 2010

It's not going to be 100% cancelled out, but there's unpleasant side effects at higher doses. And you won't get as high by taking too much.

I think you should be fine if you've had 1.6 in 2 shots, I would just chill for a few hours and try it again later.

It's hard to say what doing would or would not do for you though.
 
Hmm, if there is a chance of getting a slight high I would do more, I'm barely feeling anything but I don't want to screw up my tolerance for the next time I want to try. Since I already did quite a bit I would do more if that is what it takes to push me into a comfortable mild semi-high. Whatever though, it's not that important either way it turns out I am just trying to make the best choice.
 
Back to the St John's Wort- where do they sell it and how much do people take? I'll give it a shot if there is a chance it will help me break through into euphoria with bupe.
 
C.H., i was wondering if you could shed some light on this.
i've been taking about 1-2 mg of bupe to come off H.

after i do it i will get this weird feeling that there is hair on my tongue and i will continue to try to pick it off
it feels like there's something in my mouth/nose there but there never is
its different than an opiate itch that i'm familiar with

is this a negative side effects or just bupes form of the itch?
 
lol ,what the hell is a "naughty list" ? Apparently having volunteered to become Cap_H's Sub Doc earned me a front row seat in that list ... not attempting to be funny or anything but I've mailed Subs(FOR FREE) to people who NEED them and would have gone through hell otherwise ... what could be so wrong about this ,besides ignoring laws which are made by people who know next to zero about our/my condition ?Selling Subs is an altogether different matter though and should be dissuaded for obvious reasons.

Over-the-counter at major chain drug stores; people only take the recommended dose, ~1 hr before Subx. Can be expensive (and may not do anything). If u do it Be Careful/read up on SJW side-effects, risks: a lot of people say it does mess with other meds, like anti-depressants (and probably will make things like benzos and other opiates LESS effective). But if you do it, I'd be interested hear your results.

lol , I'm pretty sure this is one of the ultra rare side effects that like 1 out of 1000000 people experience . Sorry man , 1st time I hear about it .. ahha ,reminds me of typical stimulant induced paranoia/hallucinations though

Hm...interesting. Hair on your tongue, something in your mouth/nose. Those are some interesting tactile sensations. I'm not sure why you are experiencing that...sometimes I feel like there's hair on my tongue but sometimes there actually is (living with 2 cats - it happens I guess)...hm.

And you say this is after sublingual dosing?

I'm not sure if it's a negative side effect of the buprenorphine or not. I really have no idea. Thebaine derivatives tend to create unique reactions in some people, I just haven't heard of anything like this.

Is there a way you can describe it a little more? I know exactly what you're talking about though.

I would say it sounds like a unique reaction to the drug. Have you tried any other ROA with Suboxone (If not that's 100% OK - I'm just wondering if you would experience this if you have tried another ROA) - if so did it happen to you then?

And does this happen every time you take Suboxone, like clockwork, or is it something that only occurs every now and then?

When I used to take Suboxone sublingually I used to vomit (every day) - I'm glad that's over.

it was a one time thing last night.

i have used suboxone only once before my current taper and that was before i had tried dope.
it was probably around 3-4 months ago
it was snorted the first time and i was incredibly high and itchy.

the hair thing happened after i smoked a bowl too which could have contributed.
minor annoyances like that usually don't bother me but i was actually sticking my tongue out trying to pick things off it.

Yeah, the weed could have contributed. Unique tactile sensations can be a part of the buprenorphine experience, so I'd be interested if it happened again to you. Weed can really potentiate buprenorphine too just FYI.
 
CH please can you explain to me why someone would want to take buprenorphine with nalxone ? isnt naloxone a blocker ? why do they combine the two in this med called suboxone - i would hate to take suboxone and have my opiate receptors blocked .. doesnt the naloxone cancel out the bupe completely (obviously not but....)

im confused....again lol

i know they do this combo to stop u shooting it.... but - arrghhh i just dont get it how does suboxone work etc please help man

^Naloxone is ony active when IV'd.

However, Buprenorphine has a higher affinity to the opiate receptrs than Naloxone. Meaning, after a little competition - the buprenorphine wins.

The naloxone is bascially just a scare tactic.

Interesting. I do take other benzos, how long would it affect them for? Would it reduce the duration of suboxone in your system? If so that would be great since I've been looking for a way to reduce the level in my system faster.

Nalaxone doesn't work period. Bupe has a higher affinity to receptor than naloxone making naloxone useless if someone were to overdose on bupe which makes it dangerous if someone with no tolerance manages to OD. A shot of nalaxone or similar antagonist will be ineffective.

It was just put in there to fool the FDA and it worked, they market it saying nalaxone isn't absorbed sublingually but is when IVed the user gets a full use to discourage illicit use but in reality you can IV suboxone just fine.

so oral/ SUB-L nalxone doesnt do shit but bupe does..... (obv)

so when IV-D ....
isnt bupe an antagonist at kappa sites anyway ? and its just the mu sistes that make u high right ?

so the nalxone competes with the bupe at the mu sites (naloxone trying to be an antagonist and bupe trying to be an agonist) - but the bupe wins and kicks the naloxone out of there - on both mu and kappa ?

if its so useless why do the pharmcompanies / government bother with it ?

i know a lot of us know more than doctors etc - but some of them are actually quite good at this stuff.... dont they know it doesnt work ???

Pretty much. The companies bother with it to pass a new drug through the FDA and sell it and make a ton of money. The government is just stupid.
