This thread is about a blatant display of racism and bigotry in Charlottesville, Virginia. This thread is about an innocent young lady from Charlottesville who was murdered by someone who believed in white supremacy and nazism. This thread isn't about liberals and how you all don't like them.
The constitution protects free speech, and no one has suggested doing away with the 1st amendment.
These people clearly care nothing about Robert E. Lee or what he stood for, and were searching for something to bitch about. The argument that these statues have a place in our society is a fallacious one. Monuments are reserved for great men/women and actions/events, and these statues of traitors are not monuments. The vast majority were erected 50 years after the Civil War at the peak of Jim Crow laws.
There are countless Civil War museums, battlefields, and monuments to true patriots which serve as memorials to what happened.
The constitution doesn't stop people from forming their own opinions and taking their own actions against nazis and white supremacists, or their apologists/sympathizers. It isn't your job to protect these nazis/white supremacists from others who find them despicable. If you think it is, you are either one of them or a sympathizer.
Fresco and Meth are derailing this thread over and over with personal attacks, disinformation, misrepresentation of what people said, and topic changes.
To support and defend the nazis or white supremacists who proudly flew their swastikas and white power symbols is what would be expected from a textbook nazi/white supremacist apologist/sympathizer. Calling a duck a duck is what most people in this thread have done. No one called either one of you a nazi/white supremacist, even though you might be. The simple support as opposed to denunciation earned you the title of nazi/white supremacist apologist/sympathizer.
