Why is MDMA illegal? Opinions plz

I don't see how alcohol enhances food, if anything it does exactly the opposite for me but eating when tripping(not neccessarily E, cause i wouldnt exactly want to eat when on E) really makes me appreciate food more.

If you think MDMA showed you the meaning of life, you need to reconsider your goals.

If it wasnt for the first time I rolled I would have proberly took my life about 3 years. It showed me the meaning of life and made me remember the beautiful and simple things that make it so precious.

e is such a mild trip tho... cant wait for a chemist to come up with "super e" . 10x more potent no comedowns and no tolerance :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

What do you guys think are the reasons why mdma is illegal? I hope to get a lot of your opionions on this because I don't think its illegal just because it has no use to society or because of its toxic or the damages it makes to our body or mind, physically. We all know what the media says about mdma because if you ever ask anyone who hasnt done it, they will probablly refuse immedietly because the media only tells you the bad side of the drug and not the good side.

What I think is a reason why its illegal is because the government/ people who control or maintan America, dont want us to find the true meaning of life and to enjoy it to the fullest. As a child we were brainwashed and taught that we have to do really well at school and school is the most important thing. This is how I was back then but after I started dropping I found out what life really is and lifes not all about being successful and money like my parents used to tell me. So I think the government wants us to keep working hard to keep the U.S being the supercontinent or economy or whatever, so if we all drop E, most would find that working and being successful is not the most important thing, but being happy and having fun is much better way to live cause we only live once so why not enjoy.

I think you'll find its because there's a long history in the US, the UK, Australia and elsewhere towards drug prohibition, starting with heroin, then alcohol (in the US), cocaine etc etc. MDMA is just another part of that. It emerged recently, was synthetic (and thus difficult to obtain, unlike tobacco or alcohol), and was seen as another path to addiction and destruction of life. It was banned outright, and governments haven't seen any reason to remove that ban, especially in light of equivocal evidence of brain damage.

I don't think there's any conspiracy like you intend at all.

It's not clear such a drug can be made. Homeostasis is a powerful mechanism, and there's very good reasons not to upset it. Tinkering with your brain's homeostatic mechanisms is an area for much caution....

Tolerance might be easier to block, but a comedown is hard to manage because of the homeostasis problem. The "stronger" the drug (i.e. more recreational), the more of your brain it hits up and hits hard....

Comedowns can be managed if you don't abuse E, i find. It's just hard to accept sometimes that your moment is over.

It's simple. the US believes no one should get high regardless of individual liberties guaranteed by the constitution.

Question: Why Is MDMA illigal?

Answer: Prohibition.

Prohibition does not work. It didnt work for alcohol in the 30s and it still doesn't work today.

Maybe some day prohibition will go away forever and you will be able to buy MDMA caps next to the Asprin in a drug store - but untill then people will be going to drug houses where shady deals and sometimes gang and gun violence is rampent. History has tought us that people will do what they want to do, even if it means breaking the law.

MDMA is illegal because the american government is prohibitionist regarding all non-taxed drugs that give pleasure.

any political party(in australia anyway) wouldn't have the balls to even suggest the legalization of mdma . They couldn't give a rats ass if it had any use in therapy/ counselling(which it has been used very succesfully).Even if every major player in politics dropped a bikie and experienced what most other users have, even for them to suggest that mdma is not as bad(if used responsibly)as the media make out, would be political suicide and an open invitation to be crucified by the media. Unfortunately, I can't see any change in the near or even distant future. some drugs r accepted(alcohol), some r not. pity

E is so physically draining and the long term effects are unpredictable. Because the feeling of ecstacy is so profound and to simply put it ... "nice", it has a really high potential of abuse. Just the same as any other drug, alcohol, cannabis, heroin etc etc. But as it is fairly new and nobody knows the long term effects then it is bound to be illegal. You cannot take MDMA everyday like you can most drugs.

I don't think any drugs should be illegal but I would defiantly describe Ecstasy as one of the harder drugs. Although relatively safe in the right hands, if someone doesn't know what they're doing they could be doing themselves a lot of harm before they even knew it. Ecstasy abuse is anything under once in 3 weeks. Most people will take it every Friday & Saturday night until one day they wake up with a speak impediment and a twitch.

It's nowhere near as physically damaging as alcohol tho. Or cigarettes.

And incidentally what does something being dangerous have with it being made illegal? Anything is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Climbing is dangerous. So is swimming. So is driving. So is crossing the road. So is playing many sports. More people choke to death eating satsumas every year than die from Ecstasy. Do we make satsumas illegal?

You don't make something illegal just because it's theoretically possible some doofus could harm himself.

To the topic title:
Because, in the 30's, good ole' US of fucking A decided that it would make all fun things illegal. And that the whole world should follow in that decision, because, well, the president of the motherfucking US of A sez so.
That's one goddamn colonization that went wrong, I tell ya. I bet if not so much Europeans colonized the country and eradicated the local civilization but instead exploited them the way we do now like in 3rd world countries. We'd still have legal drugs that don't suck, like alcohol. But nooo, some poor runaway European dude had to find gold on that piece of crap land.

;)

The reasons MDMA was made illegal are not up for debate really. This has been documented many times by many writers and directors. Go watch Ecstasy Rising, it tells a good story about this.

i don't know if it is should be or should not .... ask the law maker .

It's not just because of the US. There were temperance/prohibition movements in all countries - lots of countries came close to making alcohol illegal, some even before Prohibition in the US.

MDMA itself was illegal in the UK years before it was illegal in the USA.
