Why is MDMA illegal? Opinions plz

I think MDMA is illegal because those in power that make the decisions have no choice but to make it illegal. Politics is everything, no politician wants to be the one who goes against society and make certain drugs legal such as MDMA or marijuana. I believe that if more studies were done and more people experienced MDMA they may change their minds and look at things differently.

I agree with MDMA being illegal to be honest. making it legal will be silly. MDMA can be dangerous and making it legal will just make it available to more people to abuse. All this shit about 'We should let people see a doctor and if the doctor thinks they are responsible they are allowed to take it' That's bullshit, if you think it will work then lmao. I think it shoud stay illegal as being illegal makes it very hard to get and only people who actually really want it and have read up on it can actually get it.

Most poeple on here can get MDMA whenever they want so why would you care?

Prohibition does not work like you seem to believe it does. Making it "illegal" has the bad side effect of making it available to the underage. While legalizing it does not halt that availability completely, it does make it harder for kids to get- just look at tobacco and alcohol for proof. It is easier for high school kids to get hold of X than to get cigarettes or Jack Daniels.

One thing I recommend people to do, is go over to leap.cc and read up, and watch the video.

Not in UK. Drinking age is 18 and smoking is 16. A 10 year old could easily get hold of alcohol and cigarettes either by asking someone older to get it for them or just simply buy it them selves. I understand the US is stricter but in the UK it is very easy for kids to get hold of alcohol and cigarettes.

I see a lot of 15 - 16 year olds in clubs now because bouncers aren't IDing. There is all ways places here that kids no of as the 'Places we can get into' like a small off license that will all ways serve them and a club that will all ways let them in.

OH... Quite different here. 21 is drinking age, 18 smoking... And very serious penalties if caught allowing an underage person to buy either. Many stores just make it a policy to ID everyone no matter how old you are/look. I'm 40 and get I.D'd at some places just because it is policy. So it is really difficult for kids to get hold of smokes or alcohol- not impossible, but difficult... But any high school kid knows where to get any drug if they wanted to. Its really a sad statement of how back-asswards the "drug war" is.
